If there is one area of the beauty world I'm not well-versed in, it's actually self-tanning products. I used to be the person in the tanning beds multiple days per week and then I realized how terrible that was for me, so I swapped to spray tans and I had some pretty bad tans as the spray tan was being perfected!

So, I've gone the complete other direction with full SPF50 on every day and no tan because I'm so nervous to dive in to self-tanning products from all my previous orangey tans. But, I love a tanned look, so when Bali Body reached out to me, I was really excited to give their products a try!
Bali Body is an Australian brand and all their products are made in Melbourne. All their products are 100% vegan and cruelty free - they are made with naturally derived ingredients and are made to be suitable for all skin types. Here's to hoping that there are no orangey or streaky tans in my future:
Bali Body Gradual Face Tan ~ $41.95 CAN. A daily face moisturiser infused with self tan. This ultra hydrating cream nourishes skin and gradually builds a subtle, natural looking tan. Apply daily to achieve a smooth, even & sun kissed complexion all year round. Made with soothing skincare ingredients and 100% natural DHA, suitable for all skin types.
This seemed like the easiest product to start out with - a nice daily moisturizer that just adds a hint of colour to the skin without drastically changing the shade of your skin. Also, I feel like a lighter tint on the skin means less chance of missing spots or having streaky spots!
This is considered to be a skincare product infused with self tan products meant for daily use.
To apply this, after cleansing, apply this all over the face with your hands, making sure to blend into your hairline & down your neck. This is considered a gradual tan product, so for optimal results use every 1-2 days for a radiant glow.
Here is a look at my natural skin, and then a look at me the next morning after applying the Bali Body Gradual Face Tan. I really liked this product - it gives such a gentle hint of colour to the face, but I love the added touch. I always think a hint of tan makes it a little easier to go foundation free!
I thought this applied easier, it was a good moisturizer - my skin didn't feel dry or anything. I liked the hint of tan this added to my face and this could easily become a regular product in my routine! This one is fantastic!

After trying and loving the gradual tan for the face, I knew that I was going to really enjoy the gradual tan lotion for the body as well! This is a very similar lotion style application that just adds a hint of colour, but doesn't get streaky or too dark.
This is really easy to apply - apply the lotion to clean, dry skin as often as you like. Can be used everyday as a body moisturiser, and it will subtly & gradually tan your skin overtime. Also, the more often you apply our Gradual Tan, the darker your tan will become. Make sure you wash hands after application.
Alright, my lighting was quite off while taking these photos, this is a before and after; but, it doesn't show the difference in person. It has a bit more subtle of a difference than the face lotion - it's just a nice of hint of colour and it looks lovely on!

I was really excited with a few levels of tanning products to try - after using the Gradual Tan products first, I was a little more confident trying the self tanning products. I like that they offer sets (a few different options), so you can have face and body products and an applicator!

I've only tried one other tanning mitt, and I can certainly say this one was softer and helped applied the product a little nicer than the other one - it's nice and soft and easy to use! To care for it, you just hand wash it and dry it. I thought this was good!

I've tried one other tanning water and I didn't love it, so I was a little nervous to try this. I do like the idea of a water, because it's a nice and light application method that feels easy to apply as well - you can feel it covering all areas (this only thing that was a little difficult was that you could not see instantly if you were applying it everywhere or not.
To apply this face tan water, you start with spraying the water on a cotton pad and then applying the cotton pad to the face, neck and décolletage (you can also use your hands if you prefer, but the cotton pad was really easy to use!) The Face Tan Water will develop within 4-6 hours.
Think of it as a toner, it's your first step in your daily skincare routine. Or, for a more gradual tan, add a few drops into your daily facial moisturiser to build a gradual bronzed glow.
Here is a look at the before and after of the Face Tan Water - I love the application of this product! I thought it was easy to apply and it was more of a lighter tan than I was expecting (in a goof way), but darker than the Gradual Face Tan. I thought it covered well (I might have gone a little too heavy on the nose), and I was happy with the results!
Both face products were great, this was nice and easy on the skin and wore well! I enjoyed this one so much.

Okay, this was pretty intimidating with the shade "dark" on there (also I unbeknownst to me because I didn't read the directions first, went for the darkest tan there). I struggle a little bit with a mousse application as I find I tend to apply it not great - I think it's more from lack of knowing how to do it properly, as opposed to the product itself.
To apply this, you apply the foam to the tanning mitt and then apply in big circular motions all over the whole body. Also, they recommend for a light tan, wash off after 1 hour. For a medium to dark tan, leave for up to 4 hours. For the deepest tan leave for 8 hours before showering.
I will be honest, I just went to sleep after, so I got the full deepest tan experience - it is good to know to rinse it off though, so I can control the tan a little bit more!
Here is a before and after of the Dark Tanning Mousse - it was a pretty drastic difference for the deepest tan. The colour wasn't orange or anything, it did look nice. The only problem was of course, I applied it a little streakier and that's my issue. I will keep attempting, but honestly, with the gradual tan so easy to apply I'm more likely to go that route!
Overall, I was really impressed with the Bali Body products I tried - certainly the Gradual Face and Body products felt the best fit for me and I love both of those. They have made their way in to my routine. Also, I did enjoy the Face Tan Water and thought it applied really well. The Tanning Mousse was good and it's a great colour, so I imagine those that are more comfortable with that formula would like it!
