I feel like it's been a minute since I've posted about an eyeshadow palette, but honestly, I think I'm at the point where I am trying to be a little more thoughtful about what I'm bringing in to my collection (my Monthly Haul post coming might call me a liar for that; but I'm certainly trying). I just did a huge declutter and really want to bring makeup in that offers something different that I will use!
I purchased this palette on my own
When I saw that Temptalia was teaming up with Sydney Grace, I was very excited - I mean Temptalia is the OG of Beauty Bloggers, she literally grades every single beauty product out there, so you know if she is partnering on an eye shadow palette, it's going to be amazing!
And, they didn't just come out with one palette and have it limited edition - these are permanent products, and there are 3 different palettes, all with a dark or a light option, so 6 palettes in total. I love that skin tones were considered and they didn't use scarcity marketing to feel like we needed to rush out immediately to get these (although, I really did think I'd see a few more people talking about these palettes!) I thought the shade ranges were interesting and different, so I picked up one palette in the light option!
Sydney Grace x Temptalia Eye Palette - Quintessence Light ~ $40.00 US. A celestial fantasy through a constellation of vivid tones and otherworldly finishes. It is inspired by all things space: the twinkling of stars and the dreams of nebulae on an endless journey through the galaxies and beyond.
These palettes were all gorgeous, but I picked a middle range palette - it has some taupes and lighter neutrals with pops of bold colour, there is a more earthy neutral palette, as well as a more colourful palette. Also, the packaging and outer space theme of all the palettes is gorgeous.
Orion Nebula ~ raspberry red with pearl sheen
Aurora ~ violet with blue-violet shift and sparkling, metallic finish
Borealis ~ mint green base with warmer, gold shimmer and micro-sparkle over metallic finish
Galactic Muse ~ medium bluish-teal with intense, metallic finish
Interstellar ~ deep blue-teal with matte finish
The Mielke Way ~ medium, rosy pink base with intense, gold-to-green shift and metallic finish
Reaching Zenith ~ light-medium, neutral gray with matte finish
Parallax ~ light grayish-lavender with matte finish
Sirius Starlight ~ light, silvery taupe with twinkling, metallic finish
My Constellation ~ muted, mid-tone plum with blue reflect and metallic finish
This palette is very pretty - it is pretty heavy on the shimmers, and I would prefer a bit more of an even mix of mattes and shimmers personally!
For this look, I started with Borealis all over the inner and middle lid, then I used Interstellar to deepen the outer corner and applied Galactic Muse over top, helping blend with Borealis on the lid. I applied Aurora to the lower lash line and Sirius Starlight on the inner corner. I used a little Parallax to blend the edges.
I rarely do these full colourful, blownout eyeshadow looks, but I'm really happy with how this one turned out. The greens and purples and blue go well together and I thought this was a lot of fun! I also rarely reach for only shimmer shadows (or mostly) but was impressed with how the metallic shadows worked for this look!
This look is one of the reasons this product made my September 2021 Monthly Favourites - it really had me playing with makeup again, and the looks were always good!
For this look, I used Reaching Zenith through the crease, then applied Umbra to the outer corner. I applied Orion Nebula on the inner lid and My Constellation to the middle lid. I applied Mielke Way to the inner corner and Celestial Bloom to the lower lash line!
The pinks are such a great pop and My Constellation is hard to capture how pretty it is in the centre lid - plum and grey and a little pink, it's lovely!
This has some nice unexpected pops of colour in it, and I'm happy with the shade range - I don't have a ton of cool toned shadows and the greens and pinks and purples are all very pretty!
I've already mentioned that this made my September 2021 Monthly Favourites and I'm really impressed with the shadow formula - it's gotten me to play with makeup again and have fun creating colourful looks! Really happy with this purchase!
Have you checked out these palettes yet?!
