I have been loving when their is astrology releases - I'm a pretty proud of being a Scorpio, so I love picking up fun Scorpio products and trying them out! And, today is the day we get to parade around for a whole month, so it's time to welcome Scorpio season in!
ColourPop has recently started releasing quads, and I really enjoyed one of the ones I tried over the Summer. The Scorpio quad that I picked up and the other newer products have a very pinky/purple vibe that's perfect for this transition time to Fall!
I call these "newer" because I'm never going to be able to keep up with all the ColourPop releases, but in addition to the Scorpio palette, I also picked up some products from the newer Princess, Bambi and Tinkerbell lines!
Colourpop The Secret Life Of Scorpio Shadow Palette ~ $9.00 US. The secret's out with this stinger of a palette! Get deep with this moody mix of violet and rich burgundy!
I love this plum, purple vibe - these feel perfect for Fall. I like that the lightest and darkest shades are both matte and the middle shades are both shimmers; it makes for nice balance in the palette! Scorpio colours are always described as red and burgundies, so this feels fitting for the sign!
That’s Deep ~ metallic plum with pink and gold pinpoints
Burning Passion ~ metallic warm burgundy with gold and purple pinpoints
Mystery ~ matte cool nude pink
Secrets Secrets ~ matte deep magenta
This is a quad of mattes and metallics, and the shadows are described as highly pigmented and a velvety formula that is meant to adhere and blend well.
I typically quite like the ColourPop shadow formula; I'm usually really impressed with their formula, but I did find this palette to be a little different. I know purples can be a little more difficult to formulate, but this had quite a bit more kick-up and fallout than other palettes I've tried. This is still a pretty formula, and I liked the looks I got with this!
ColourPop Once Upon A Dream Super Shock Shadow ~ $7.00 US. Our revolutionary creme-powder eyeshadow, famous for its unique bouncy texture, delivers bold metallic foiled colour in one swipe without creasing, fading or fallout.
Okay, along with astrology collections, I also cannot resist any princess collections, especially when they are Aurora. I was reasonable though and didn't pick up every shadow, because I only reach for my super shock shadows once in while, so I only picked up the Aurora one and it's described as "rose with a duochrome coral flip and gold pin points".
How gorgeous is this shade?! I couldn't resist this pretty shade - I love the pink, with the hints of gold in there!
While I don't reach for these often, I do love the formula of the super shock shadows! They are creamy and apply well on the eyes, especially with your fingers.
ColourPop Purty Creme Gel Liner ~ $8.00 US. A super creamy, highly pigmented Créme Gel Pencil that delivers instant color payoff for all day wear.
The Bambi collection was super cute - I actually almost purchased a few things from it; but, I new I wanted to try out a purple liner when I was going for a deeper purple look. I love a coloured liner and was hoping for a few more shades for a little more variety! Purty is described as a "matte plum" liner.
Here is a look at the shade of the liner - it swatched very pretty and I loved the shade. But, I did think this one didn't translate quite as well on the waterline. It will be a pretty liner on the lid or under eye, just not quite on the lower waterline!
Here is a look I created using the ColourPop Scorpio quad and Once Upon A Dream shadows. I used Mystery through the crease as a transition shade, then I applied Secrets Secrets to the outer corner. Then I applied Burning Passion all over my lid, and then I used the Once Upon a Dream shadow on the inner lid and inner corner. I do also have the Purty liner on the waterline, but it is hard to tell. I do like the way this eye look turned out; the shades are pretty!
ColourPop Clap If You Believe Lip Stain ~ $9.00 US. Our first ever hybrid lip formula combines the long-lasting powers of a lip stain with the shine of a gloss for a kiss of colour that lasts all day!
I was excited about a new lip product from ColourPop - this lip stain is a water-based formula that includes vitamin rich ingredients with guava and lychee extracts - it has medium to buildable coverage with a non-drying glossy finish.
Clap If You Believe is described as a "warm nude with pink and gold pinpoints" - I did think this was a more nudey brown shade based on the pictures, but it certainly pulls more peachy on me (it's a really pretty shade, just didn't quite match my purply look!)
Here is Clap If You Believe swatched on my arm - the top is straight out of the tube and the bottom swatch is it thinned out just to see the coverage difference!
The formula of this is fine - it's nice and light on the lips and adds a hint of colour. It is quite watery, so it doesn't feel fully secure on the lips. I personally had to dry it on the lips and then I enjoyed the colour more. I prefer a tinted lip balm or gloss over this, but it was okay.
Here is a look at the Lip Stain on my lips - this is dabbed off on my lips a little, but the shade is pretty. I did like that the stain element was long lasting and the hint of color was nice.
And, here is the final look with all my newish ColourPop products - the Scorpio and Princess products on my eyes (with the Bambi one too), and the TinkerBell lip stain on my lips!
I did enjoy the final look and it's perfect for Fall and Scorpio season! Have you tried any of these products?!
