The Marc Jacobs palette was received as a gift - this post contains affiliate links
I did this as well in November as a little break and now all the palettes in my collection as shared on the blog! know this sounds like a lame problem - but as a blogger, I feel like I have to photograph and review everything I pick up and there is products that I want to use and at this point feel a little too old to have a whole post dedicated to only them! So, they still deserve a little love on here!
ONE
I received this palette in my 2020 Beautylish Lucky Bag and I was pretty excited to receive a Natasha Denona palette! It is a lovely palette and very neutral - I actually have a couple of mini Natasha palettes, but this is my first palette with full size pans!
Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Palette ~ $63.00 CAN. An eyeshadow palette with a range of five versatile, nude shades.
I love a neutral palette, so that's always a win for me. This palette is really pretty and has 3 mattes with 2 shimmers. The only issue that I have with this palette is those 2 medium browns are soooo similar - they look basically the same on the eyes to me and I just think that for $63 for 5 shadows, you want 5 different eye shadow shades!
Arrosto ~ dark, matte brown with a yellow undertone
Dune ~ light peachy golden nude metallic
Safari ~ medium dusty ochre matte
Copper Stone ~ rich copper with a golden nude metallic effect
Zand ~ medium warm ochre matte
The shadows are really nice - I have raved about the Natasha Denona formula before (again, in the mini palettes and I didn't notice a difference in formula with the full size palette). They are all nice. The mattes are very blendable and the shimmers are really pretty on the eye - best applied with a finger tip. There are no complaints about the quality of this palette; but, this biggest gripe is that it doesn't offer a huge range and it just feels very one note to me. But, I do get good, easy neutral eye looks and I do appreciate that on a workday morning.
TWO
I can't really believe that I didn't write a whole post about this palette - I had pictures and swatches taken forever and honestly, I just did't use it a ton! Not because there is anything wrong with it, but it is mostly a shimmery and deep palette and that is something I only reach for every once in a while! So alas, it sat there waiting for me to review it forever!
ColourPop Villains Misunderstood. Shadow Palette ~ $22.00 US. In collaboration with Disney and their infamous villains, we’re bringing you the palette to rule them all, Misunderstood. This mixed finish 15 pan eyeshadow palette combines intense mattes, colour shifting duochromes, and rich metallics.
Again, this is a such a pretty palette and the ColourPop eyeshadow formula is nice - it's blendable and the shimmers are pigmented and look fantastic on. It's just not easy to do a full look of all shimmers (there is a matte transition and one deep matte, so you could do a full look with it, I just like a little more matte variety! I did get one look with this palette and you can see it here.
no spots ~ matte pure white
mongrels ~ metallic pinky ivory
diablo ~ metallic lime
devious ~ matte terracotta
tragic ~ matte soft warm beige
underworld ~ metallic bronzey copper
pain & panic ~ metallic mid-tone gold with peachy pink flecks
forest of thorns ~ metallic orchid
flotsam ~ metallic baby pink with blue glitter
the fates ~ matte deep blue
revenge ~ matte charcoal grey with silver glitter
sing ~ metallic dark brown with hot pink to gold duochrome flip
jetsam ~ metallic denim blue with teal duochrome flip
facile ~ metallic rich olive green with gold flecks
101 ~ matte black
The shadows are gorgeous and no complaints about the formula and how it wears, it's just me that needs to reach for it and play with it more!
THREE
I have a friend who isn't a huge makeup lover that was gifted this and she mentioned that she had an "eyeshadow-thing" for me that she was never going to use. So, I was all excited and was asking her to describe it, and she said it was by "Marc Somebody" - which is hilarious! I was clearly elated because I knew she meant Marc Jacobs and I was so excited because I haven't tried their eyeshadows before!
Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Elec-trick Palette ~ $65.00 CAN. Limited edition holiday palette that features seven shades with three mattes one satin, and three metallic/sparkly shades.
So, this is a limited edition palette that came out for the holidays - it's a lovely grey, mauvey and pink with some gorgeous shimmers. Personally, I love this colour range and it's not what I typically reach for (it's clearly a little different from my regular warm brown palette!)
Rock Out ~ warm-toned, light pink with a satin finish
Feel ~ warm-toned, light-medium mauve with a matte finish
The Rhythm ~ medium-dark brown with a matte finish
Glittering ~ light-medium red with a sparkle finish
The Stage ~ light-medium silver with a metallic finish
In Stardust ~ warm-toned, light-medium pink with a sparkle finish
Tonight ~ cool-toned, dark black with a semi-matte finish
Okay, these shadows are stunning and the formula is fantastic! The mattes are so creamy and smooth and blend so well on the eyes and the metallics are so gorgeous and look so good on! I love the range that this palette has and seriously, I would have made a full post about this one if I didn't receive it after it was gone!
FOUR
I received this palette in my December 2019 Tribe Beauty Box and it actually arrived with a shadow broken, so I was waiting for a replacement (the broken shadow went every where and was really hard to get out of some of the lighter mattes). I tried to repress the shadow
as you'll see in these pictures, but it didn't last and it had to be tossed - not the whole palette just that shadows.
Glamlite Miracle Eyeshadow Palette ~ $28.00 US. The Miracle palette is a tribute to all of the brave women in the world who have been affected by breast cancer.
This palette from Glamlite was create to support Breast Cancer research with 10% of sales going to Breast Cancer research. This is a pretty pink palette and I thought it have a good balance of mattes and shimmers. It also has a good range of light, medium and deeper shades so it is pretty versatile.
The shades included are Heavenly, Shine, Superwoman, Hope, Angelic, Amor, Flawless, Butterfly, Fearless, Beautylicious, Rosa, and Treasure.
I wasn't overly impressed with this shadow formula myself - I had heard good things about them, but I think it's personal preference. These shadows applied quite pigmented to the eyes, but it makes them a little stiff and hard to blend out. The shimmers weren't super smooth and I did get pretty eye looks, but I did eventually declutter this palette from my collection!
FIVE
This is a much older palette - I'm thinking mid-2017, but this was the first collaboration between Moschino and Sephora Collection and unlike the next two collaborations, this one sold out pretty quickly and never came back in to stock, so I never wrote about it. But, I loved this one because it started with my mini palette love and it's an adorable little shopping bag!
Moschino + Sephora Collection Shopping Bag Mini Palette ~ $23.00 CAN. The palette contains the ultimate metallic and matte eye shadows in an edited range that delivers a lasting, high-impact, velvet finish.
This is a pretty palette - it's a mix of warm and cool shadows with a deep reddish-pink, taupe and browns. Overall, it's pretty medium toned; but, it does come with 4 mattes and 2 shimmers.
The shades included in this palette are Clay, Bound Brown, Pixie Dust, Kisses, Cloud Crossing, and Angel Wings.
The shadows are pigmented and creamy - they blend really nicely and are good quality. The shimmers are nice and creamy and pigmented. These shadows wear really nicely and this post reminded me that I need to give this palette a little more love!
I hope you all have an amazing weekend and I will be back to sharing regular life update next Friday (of course I will have regular beauty posts up this week too!)
