Manicure Monday - Happy Face Nails

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend - ours was quiet (obviously), but good. I'm really trying to stay positive, but sometimes it's not always easy under the current circumstances, so I thought I would enlist the help of my nails to help keep my positivity motivated!

Funny story - The CBBxManiMonday group picked "pastel nails" for the month of April, and this is what I picked. And, honestly I didn't notice until I went to schedule this post for today (last night) and my blog calendar reminded that is in fact still March, which should be "blue and green nails" so I'm feeling a little silly right now that this is neither!

So pastels for next month, think of soft and delicate versions of colours! I feel like pastels are just the trend of Spring - I'm seeing pastel makeup and nails everyone, so it seemed perfect! These are a little on the bright side for pastel, but this is actually a lighter yellow polish and I've never tried this formula from Bio Sculpture, so I really wanted to give this formula a try!

Bio Sculpture is known  for their gel polish - they are actually the original soak-off colour gel nail system, which has been around since 1988! They are vegan, cruelty-free and 10-free polishes.

Bio Sculpture has come out with a new Gemini nail polish formula - representing “twins”, meaning all the polishes match BIOGEL colours! The polish range is fast drying, long lasting and will add strength to the nail - it also has a UV filter and is styrene free. The shade I used is Bio Sculpture Gemini Nourishing Nail Polish in Tropical Sunray ($20.50 CAN).

The Bio Sculpture Ethos Oxycoat ($23.50 CAN) is a nourishing base coat with antioxidant properties (that can also be used as a top coat), and the Bio Sculpture Ethos Mirror Top Coat ($23.50 CAN) gives a smooth finish with a plumping effect to increase the brilliance of nail polish! And, the polish went on nice in two coats and did seem nice and solid on the nails! It's been on for a couple of days and hasn't chipped and everything looks good - I did also like the base and top coat!

To create this mani, I started with a base coat and two coats of light yellow nail polish. Then using a black nail art polish (I used the Orly Instant Artist in Jet Black) and I used the brush to create a half circle at the tip of the nail for a brush, then using a nail dotting tool or the top of the nail art polish brush, dot on two dots for eyes. Then I finished with a top coat and a smile :).

I hope you guys are okay with me trying to maintain some normalcy around here and still talk about nails and beauty even though it may seem frivolous, but beauty has always been my "me time", so I'd like to maintain that!

I hope you are all staying safe and staying home, but also staying positive! As always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love for their #CBBxManiMonday for their blue or green or maybe pastel nails!

  1. Awww, look at their smiling faces! I honestly thought it was April too and then realized it was still March last week. That's ok, you have a head start on next month! I'm trying to stay positive as well, but it really fluctuates day by day!

    1. You would think I have a better grasp on the days since I'm still having to get up for work, but I was really struggling with that last week! I agree, every day is a little bit different!
