Pink Shirt Day is a Bullying Awareness Day that started with a few teenagers standing up for a younger peer who was bullied for wearing pink, by wearing pink shirts to take a stand against bullying.
This is perfect for our #CBBManiMonday as we are sticking to our "Pink and Red" theme for the whole month of February!
Every year at work, staff put together an assembly to talk about bullying and the impacts of it and we are actually allowed to wear pink on the day. The theme for 2019 is focusing on Cyber Bullying and their aim this year is to teach: For social media users, we want them to THINK before the post. We want them to ask themselves if it is: True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary and KIND.
For this week's nails I used:
-OPI Another Ramen-tic Evening
-Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Fuchsia Power
-nail dotting tool and nail brush
After featuring my Sally Hansen Hard As Nails polishes in last week's First Beauty Loves post, I really wanted to feature one of the polishes this month and the Fuchsia Power was perfect as the base of this mani!
To complete this manicure, I started with nail cleanser and base coat, followed with 2 coats of a darker pink as the base. Then using a nail art brush and a lighter pink, I drew a t-shirt on one nail and a heart on one nail. Then, using the nail dotting tool and the light pink polish, I dotted the letters to "BE KIND" on my nail, and then added polka dots to the thumb and pinky.
Make sure you wear pink on Wednesday - and, if you can purchase a Pink Shirt Day t-shirt or buttons from London Drugs and the proceeds will go to great programs to support anti-bullying programs.
As always, make sure you check out Cosmetic Proof, Prairie Beauty Love, and Tea & Nail Polish to see their take on "Pink and Red" nails!
