Five on Friday - January 25, 2019

Happy Friday everyone! I've had possibly the craziest busy work week of my life - so exhausted, I'm so happy it is the weekend!

ONE

The highlight of my week was Damian turning 14 years old! This is so hard to believe - the time seemed to fly by! He wanted to celebrate with Fat Burger, dessert and a little party with his friends this weekend! Also, he wants to get his Learner's Licence because he's old enough now!

TWO

Also this week, Elliott turned 21 months - that means we are only 3 away from the Terrible Twos! We had a lot of fun this past weekend at the new Calgary Library that opened up - it has a full sized helicopter inside it! The kids loved it! It's such a cool space.

THREE

Ooooh, I made it back to The Calgary Farmer's Market this week (mainly to pick up doughnuts from Jelly Modern!) And, I thought I would quickly pick up a few goodies from my favorite spots - 2 Greek Gals, Heart Choices, and Good For You Snacks.

FOUR

Earlier this month I introduced a Monthly Makeup Basket to help me start using my face products more - it's an area where I always just use the same products!

So, for January I pulled 3 blushed to use more of from my collection:

  • Essence Silky Touch Blush in Babydoll - this has made my Favorite Products back in Nov. 2016, so it's an older product; but, I think the formula is still good! It's a pretty, easy to wear pink!
  • Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher in Desert Rose that I got in a recent Boxycharm - it's a pretty, peach blush and looks really nice on!
  • Too Faced Tutti Frutti Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo in Strobeberry - this is a really pretty pink blush, I didn't find myself reaching for it a ton, I will probably use it more in the Summer as I think it's a little too shimmery for right now!
I also pulled 3 highlighters in hopes of using them more:
  • Vintage by Jessika Liebeskind Illuminating Face Highlighter in "Rose Gold" - this is an old favorite (Jan 2017) and it's certainly really pretty, I'm not sure that it lasts the longest right now; but, I like the glow it gives!
  • ColourPop Churro Highlighter - this was a limited edition product and it's creamy than I normally go for in a highlighter and a little dark for me; but, I want to keep trying it because I think I purposefully ingnore this!
  • Smashbox Highlight Palette - this is from a past holiday collection and these are pretty; but, I honestly didn't reach for this highlight palette at all! It just hasn't stood out to me!

FIVE

This week's Palette of the Week is actually a few little quads from Wet n Wild - these are a combination of quads from the Flights of Fancy collection and the Fire Dragon vs. Ice Dragon collection. I like the formula of these; but, there was a couple that were super similar, namely Flock Party and Fit For A Queen. The real stand out was Stop Ruffling My Feathers and I hadn't tried this one much, so I will keep using it! I think Wet n Wild makes good products at a great price point!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
