January 2019 What I Bought - Monthly Haul

I have been loving these Monthly Haul posts - they give me a way to share everything I picked up each month, and honestly, I pick up so much stuff sometimes that you don't hear anything about it until it's in my empties posts! If you see anything you want me to talk about, just let me know.

Also, this year I plan on holding myself to my $100 a month budget - I have talked about this a fair bit recently. I pick up so much stuff, that I get distracted and forget to focus on my collection. So, in addition to my Palette of the Week post, I started adding a Monthly Makeup Basket and a Shop My Stash post each month to get use out of everything!

sephora shopping haul

Sephora Shopping Haul ~ $41.35 CAN (Was $91.35 - I had a gift card). Oh, I love ordering with a gift card, so much more exciting! So, for February a few of us CBBers are doing a whole month of Masking in February. Each week we have a theme and one theme is Luxury, so I had to pick up some new goodies for the week - Tatcha, SK-II, AmorePacific, and Dr. Jart masks! The add on sample is the Lise Watier mascara, and the 2 freebies were the Sephora wipes and the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior.

chuusi haul

Chuusi Order ~ $43.05 CAN. Sticking with the mask theme here, I went to a favorite Canadian K-Beauty store (Chuusi.ca) and picked up a few masks for the month of February (and a few extras I was intrigued by!) I picked up masks by Lovemore, Sexylook, Cosrx, Maskingdom, Etude House and Innisfree. And, they had a couple little samples from Innisfree and Etude House.

Covergirl Mascara ~ $14.69 CAN. I was super excited by Covergirl last year when they announced that they went full cruelty free, and when they announced this new Exhibitionist mascara, I had to try it! I love natural bristle, volumizing mascara, so this was great to try! I have already tried this on and reviewed it - you can check it out here

Shoppers Drug Mart Haul ~ $5.10 CAN (Was $70.10 before Shoppers Optimum points). I loooove that I can use my PC points at Shoppers, it's the best - I always earn them from grocery shopping, so I always earn them quickly. And, I went out on their "Spend Your Points Event", so I spent 50,000 points ($50.00 worth) and you actually get an extra 15,000 points off - so basically $15.00 off your order. And, the more you spend, the more you save!

So, this order was basically a stock up of needs, which is why it threw me over a tiny bit for my budget and I'm okay with it. I picked up Quo Nail Polish Remover and Luxury Cotton Facial Pads, the Pixi Glow Tonic toner, and a double pack of the Neutrogena Face Wipes. I also thought I picked up a Dry Shampoo from Cake Beauty; but, turns out this is a dry conditioner which will likely not absorb oil like I need. I will still use this; but, I still need a dry shampoo!

So, in January I spent $104.19 - this was harder than I thought! I actually spent $99.09 on January 1st and then had to hold back all month when things were released that I wanted. Also, I will likely do the same thing in February and maybe as the year goes on I will figure out a better form of self control....
