For me especially this idea is really fun because my first documented Sephora orders go back to July 2013, and while I started this blog in May 2014 I didn't actually post any make-up looks July/August 2015 (I think there was one makeup post in my whole first year)! So, while I was a pretty big beauty addict by then, I really only posted my nails and subscription box reviews on the blog and it took a while for me to start talking about makeup!
I'm going to share my First 5 Sephora Orders and they are from 2013 and 2014!
Order #1 - July 27, 2013
I'm sure that I purchased from Sephora before this; but, this is when I signed up for my Beauty Insider with my email address, so we are sticking with this as my first order!
The big item that I picked up in this order is the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and I loved this palette! It has survived many a declutter as it was my first higher end palette purchase. The shadows were the best back in the day, and I could still use this palette now (I don't reach for it often anymore; but, would still use it!)
I also still have those Sephora Collection tweezers; but, they are so beat up that they are my nail art tweezers. I don't think I liked either mascara or the perfume; but, I liked the Fresh Rose mask and I still use it!
Order #2 - January 16, 2014
Who am I, 7 months between Sephora orders?! I most certainly ordered from other companies during that time!
So, here starts my addiction to new releases - the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette was released the month before this, so I picked it up! I really loved the shades in this palette - like the Naked 2 palette, this always has a spot in my collection since I feel so attached to it! It's still beautiful even if I don't reach for it very often!
And, I picked up the Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara - I picked this up because I loved the Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes formula; but, I didn't like this particular formula!
Order #3 - April 17, 2014
This order itself was a huge success! While I don't have the Beauty Blender or Stila Eyeliner I purchase on this date, these are regular must have repurchases in my collection!
I still have the Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse and I still love it - it is my go to when I need a dramatic, defined brow and it wears all day! I feel like I have a ton more left in this pot! Plus, the brush it comes with is amazing! I also still have the Guerlain Meteorites Powder Pearls and I have been using this consistently too and I am getting close to finishing this!
I still have the Nars Orgasm and Laguna duo; but, until this Summer I probably haven't touched this in over a year. I recently really tried to use this and I actually really like the bronzer shade! You can tell this is getting old and there is some hard pan on the blush - it probably won't last too much longer!
I didn't like the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream or the Sephora brush set. I did like the sample of the Stila CC cream. And, I can't remember what I thought of the Ole Henriksen oil or the perfumes.
Order #4 - May 21, 2014
Ah, the distance of these orders is much more common now! I have nothing left from this order! I did love the Benefit BadGal Mascara and I repurchased it a few times! I have also repurchased the Sephora Collection Daily Brush Cleanser - it's just a quick spray for a quick brush clean! I've also picked up the Urban Decay eye primers since this order.
I don't think the First Aid Beauty face cream worked well for me; but, I remember liking the cleanser - it's just a gentle, creamy cleanser. And, they only ever had fragrance samples and I have no opinion on these scents.
Order #5 - August 30, 2014
Clearly, my palette obsession started early and I needed to try all the palettes! I decluttered both the Urban Decay Feminine palette and the Sephora Collection Moonshadow Baked palette - they were fine when I first got them; but, they didn't stand the test of time well!
This Tarte Buffy Bamboo Face Powder Brush is still amazing - it is my everyday powder brush! There isn't very many days over the past 4 years that I haven't used this brush! I love it! The weird Sephora Collection sponge was not good and the samples from Fresh, Estee Lauder, Benefit and Anastasia Beverly Hills were all fine!
And after that purchase, I didn't order from Sephora until 2015 and I would have slowly started talking about makeup I purchased on the blog!
So, this is what I still have from my First Five Sephora Orders! I've used these all fairly well and I really love some of these products! I've also repurchased quite a few products from these first few orders as well!
Did you go back and look at your first Sephora orders too? Let me know what popped up for you!
