Mask Thursday - Dr. Jart + Shake & Shot Rubber Mask "Firming" Try on and Review

HEEELLLOOOO - Sorry to frighten you, I must look like a Yeti! It's my nightly meringue mask, part of my nighttime skincare regime! (I'm sorry - I can't help quoting Mrs. Doubtfire when I feel exactly like when he stuck his face in a cake, with the little pieces dripping off my chin and everything!)

Happy Mask Thursday everyone! You know that I love weird and crazy masks and I have been waiting for something fun to get me back in to my mask posts!

Dr. Jart is a Korean brand that uses some of the most advanced skin care technologies with the safest ingredients to create breakthrough formulas for their skincare products!

I have tried Dr. Jart products before and really like most of them! I have even tried another type of Rubber Mask before and it had the same weird rubbery baby face thing on the packaging too!

Dr. Jart + Shake & Shot Rubber Mask - "Firming" ~ $15.00 CAN. A fun, DIY rubbery modeling mask that infuses skin with potent actives to smooth for a healthy, dewy-looking complexion.

This packaging is just hilarious and amazing all at the same time! I think it's so fun and creative - this is really what the word "skincaretainment" makes me think of! But, it's not just crazy and weird because it's actually functional too - it comes with the cup and spatula for mixing and applying the mask!

This is the Firming type; but, these also come in Hydro, Brightening and Soothing!

This mask is meant to improve skin elasticity and firmness. Dr.Jart uses the same "rubber mask" technique found in high-end Korean spas to achieve high-end results! The mask is considered a cream-to-sheet is supposed to help the active ingredients deliver quick and effective results.

This mask is easy to use; but, it takes a few steps to get working:

1. Open and remove the spatula from the lid.
2. Combine both STEP 01 Super Booster and STEP 02 Liquid Ampoule in the cup.

3. Close the lid, cover the hole with your finger, and shake well until fully mixed.

4. Using the spatula, apply an even layer over entire face within two to three minutes (avoiding the eyes and mouth).
5. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.

6. Starting from the edges, gently peel off the mask.
7. Remove any excess with a damp cotton cloth or pad.

8. Follow with your skincare routine.

Overall, I was really happy with this mask! It was fun to use - I thought it was fun to mix it up and shake it! It applied really smoothly but did drip off a little bit after a few minutes wearing the mask - it dried down (I ended up wearing it for about 35 minutes before some of the thicker parts were fully dried!)

It peeled off super well and left my face feeling really soft and hydrated! It maybe felt a touch greasy; but, I patted it in a little bit and it made my skin feel so good! I didn't add any further skincare products for the rest of the evening and until about mid-day the following day and my skin felt and looked amazing! My skin looked smooth, healthy, bright and amazing - I will absolutely try different types of these masks! I loved this!

Have you tried these masks yet? What type will you try out?

  2. I knew this was a mask when I saw it on sephora but it's something about the baby face on it that is stopping me from checking it out myself. If its a good mask why not they just have to re think their packaging lol
