February 2018 Boxycharm - Unboxing, Review, and Full Make-up Look!

Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box for $21.00 US a month + $5.00 shipping to Canada (shipping is free to the U.S.) Boxycharm sends 4 to 5 full size and luxury size beauty items.

This subscription focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! While it is a little pricier than the more inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size, with a deluxe sample every once in a while.

Every subscriber generally receives the same products, but their is usually 1 or 2 items that have a few variations, so our boxes may not be identical!

Here is a look at my February Boxycharm:

The theme of this month's box is called "Galaxy Glow" which sounds fun! Boxycharm always includes a detailed product card explaining the items that were included in each month's subscription.

I love the holographic highlighter palette and the shimmer veil - they totally fit the Galaxy Glow theme!

Here is a closer look at the products I received:

Naked Cosmetics – Holographic Highlighter Palette ~ $39.99 US. With six stunning holographic shades, this highlighting palette is essential for any makeup-enthusiast. Each iridescent shade is perfect for highlighting and layering to transform any look into something enchanting!

I was so excited to see a palette like this in Boxycharm! I know it's a new release and really, as much as I think it's beautiful, it's probably not something I would run out and purchase myself, buuuuut I will happily use this now that I have it. And, it's not something I wouldn't buy because I don't like it, it's more like I would generally stick to shades that I would wear all the time if I spend my money on highlighters.

This highlighter palette comes with 6 shades - rose quartz, ultra-violet, opal, emerald, sapphire and gold. Most of the shades were nice and iridescent; however, a couple looked liked they had a bit of chunky glitter in them (I didn't think they appeared that way on the skin though - they all wore really nicely!) They swatched well and applied to both the cheeks and eyes well - they were a touch on the powdery side; but, I didn't find this to bother me or show at all on the skin! I'm really happy with this palette!

Cover FX Shimmer Veil in "Amethyst" ~ $34.00 CAN. A product with multidimensional shimmer in a weightless cream texture for a high-impact finish on eyes, lips, and beyond.

Amethyst is described as "iridescent lavender shimmer" and... oooh - I'm so excited to see this in the box as well! I love Cover FX and I have been eyeballing these - I also love that they included the lavender shade as opposed to a neutral colour! Just something a little different and it's so beautiful! Also, if you were to buy 1 of these on it's own, it's more expensive than the whole box which is amazing; basically everything else in this month's box is free!

Smokey Eye Pencil by Vintage by Jessika Liebskind ~ $21.00 US. Jessica’s new richly pigmented smokey eye pencil delivers intense jet-black definition! Designed to create both pencil-point precision and strong, sultry saturation, the soft and creamy formula glides on lids without tugging or pulling.

This brand has been featured a few times in Boxycharm and I have generally liked the products I have tried from them. A black pencil eyeliner isn't the most exciting item to receive; but, since I recently cleared out my makeup collection, I don't have many black pencils left and the ones I do have are gel-type. So, this is a welcome addition in to my eyeliners right now!

February 2018 Boxycharm - Unboxing, Review, and Full Make-up Look!

I absolutely love the shade of the Cover FX shimmer veil - so stunning! It was fairly easy to apply too - on the eyes and lips, I just dotted it on with the applicator and smoothed it out with my fingers. I found it to be very long wearing on the eyes; on the lips not so much; but, I was only wearing it as a light topper over a balm! I much prefer this shade on the eyes but it could be used as a highlighter as well!

And, the eyeliner was surprisingly smooth for a pencil eye liner! It applied nicely and it did smudge if I tried but it does seem really easy to work with. I'm not a huge fan of pencils on my lash line; but, I used it and it applied well! I also used this to tight line and on my water line and it was nice and long wearing actually! Overall, I do really like this too!

Crown Brush – Pro Brush Trio ~ $29.99 US. This 3 pc Pro Brush Trio is 100% synthetic so it is perfect for liquid, crème, and powder cosmetics!

Okay, if you don't have many makeup brushes, Boxycharm is one way to build up your collection! They are always sending sets of brushes - I will never complain as I love makeup brushes and go through a ton! To me the more I have, the less I have to wash them!

This set come with 3 brushes:
-the small one can be used for concealing under the eyes and camouflaging any blemishes.
-the medium one can be used for applying foundation and contouring.
-the large one can be used for setting the under eye or applying powder all over.

These brushes are super soft and I love the white and pink! Plus they have little notches to rest your fingers making them really comfortable to hold.

Seraphine Botanicals - Sugar + Lemon Moisturizing Lip Buffer ~ $24.00 US. A blend of soft sugar crystals within a rich, nourishing salve base that gently exfoliates and buffs lips, leaving behind smoother skin with a touch of refreshing Lemon Zest scent. Made with Avocado, Apricot and Jojoba oils as well as Shea & Cocoa Butter to help rejuvenate & hydrate dry lips.

Oh, I love a good lip scrub! And I love that this comes in a little squeezie tube as well - as much as I love my Lush ones, the potted products are not my favorite to use! Now, this is the only product I am going to wait to use - I have 2 open lip scrubs right now so I don't want this to go bad; but, I will try it too! Also, it is cruelty-free and vegan!

And, I created a makeup look using the 3 makeup products in this month's box:
February 2018 Boxycharm - Unboxing, Review, and Full Make-up Look!

I used the Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Amethyst on my eyelids and as a lipgloss topper. I have the eye liner on my lids and on my lower water line. I have 3 of the highlighters on - the light pink in my inner corner and on my lower lash line, the rosy gold shade on the apples of my cheeks, and the purple in the crease of my lids!

Boxycharm came with 5 full sized items (technically 7 products!) with a value of $148.98. I'm happy with this month's box - I absolutely love the highlighter palette and shimmer veil! I like the set of brushes and eyeliner and I'm sure I will like the lip scrub! I think the box had good variation and overall, I like it all!
