This subscription focuses heavily on make-up items - so that is something to keep in mind! (I personally love all the makeup though and they have sent full size palettes in the past!) While it is a little pricier than the inexpensive beauty boxes, the majority of the products are full size!
Every subscriber generally receives the same products, but their is usually 1 or 2 items that have a few variations, so our boxes may not be identical!
Here is a look at my January Boxycharm:
This month's theme is "And The Charm Awards Goes To..." - Boxycharm always includes a detailed product card explaining the items that were included in each month's subscription.
Here is a look at the products I received:
Vintage - Highlighter Double "Rose Quartz/Chocolate Diamond" ~ $35.00. Add a beautiful wash of color and subtle, sexy shimmer with this limited edition illuminating face highlighter set. Wear it alone or as a beautiful highlight over pretty blush or bronzer - the reflective pearls add radiance on contact, adding a delicate glow and diamond-like finish to the skin.
This actually feels too dark for me - the chocolate diamond is a bronzer shade but way too shimmery and the other shade is questionable whether it will be too dark on me. I will swatch them and see. Also, I will note that in November, I received a Vintage highlighter is "Rose Gold" which is quite similar to this shade.
PUR - Mineral Glow Bronzing Powder ~ $25.00. Mineral Glow's micronized mineral powder has rich, golden undertones to add a sun-kissed contour to your complexion. A staple for PÜR aficionados, use it as quick fix bronzer for an all-year healthy glow.
This is a really dark bronzer - I actually think it will be too dark on me, but I will test it out and see because this bronzer does not have shimmer in it which is good! I have gotten a couple of bronzers recently from Boxycharm, so I would love to see them switch up the products a little bit more next month!
So Susan - Fan Brush ~ $18.95. A versatile brush made from best quality synthetic nylon & taklon hairs only.
This brush is 100% cruelty free which is great! It is nice and soft and is thick for a fan brush - I have one already, but I find it too thin to pick up enough highlighter. I think this one will be great!
Purlisse - Daily Lip Nourisher ~ $16.00. This advance treatment lip nourisher enriched with Mango & Shea Butters, jojoba & Rice Bran Oils and Vitamin E richly hydrates and seals in moisture. Our exclusive petroleum~free balm dry and cracked lips leaving them lush, soft, moist and youthful~looking.
This is actually a really good time to get a super nourishing lip balm - Alberta is so cold and dry in the Winter and I am flying through lip balms! I love the texture and tube of this one!
Oscar Blandi - Pronto Dry Shampoo Spray ~ $23.00. Pronto Dry Shampoo is the ultimate time saver - in a spray version. It refreshes, revives, and rejuvenates the hair in a matter of minutes - no water or blow-dryer required. This dry shampoo removes excess oil and product build-up without stripping your hair while instantly boosting volume.
I use dry shampoo all the time so this it good for me - I actually have 2 i'm using right now, so this one will wait but the reviews look good and apparently this smells like lemons!
Boxycharm came with 5 full sized items and a value of $117.95.00 - I really love that Boxycharm delivers full sized items and came with a great value! While everything this month was pretty good, I am starting to see the repeat of a few items, or shades that don't work for me. I am hoping this doesn't last for too long.
Personally, I cancelled Topbox and Ipsy to get Boxycharm - I much prefer it for the value and full sized items! I know this is a little more expensive than Ipsy or Topbox, but it seems worth it given what you receive. If you love makeup I would recommend this box.

It's too bad that the makeup colours aren't a good match for you because they seem to be good products. The bronzer could work though if you use a really light hand with it - or maybe it'll be a summer item. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chantal - turns out I was jumping to conclusions and all worked out well!
