May 2015 Beauty Subscription Box Comparison - Ipsy vs. Beauty Box 5 vs. Topbox vs. Birchbox Canada

This is the last month I will be comparing the 4 inexpensive beauty boxes - Ipsy, Beauty Box 5, Topbox, and Birchbox Canada. May was my last month of Beauty Box 5 and I have chosen not to re-subscribe! IPSY

Generally, I liked this month's Ipsy bag. The value of the bag was good and the variety in the bag was great this month! I loved the make-up bag this month (it's awesome!) and I liked the CC Cream, Eye masks, and lip primer. I also liked that I received a new eye liner color and I will try and use the leave in conditioner - it smells great!

BEAUTY BOX 5

This is my last Beauty Box 5 in my year subscription. My year has been up and down, but the year ended on a decent note. The value was okay, and this box did include a couple full size items. I liked the makeup brush, tweezers, and dermalogica product. The blush was not for me and the hand soap was meh. Overall, I will use 4 out of the 5 products which is good.

TOPBOX

The May Topbox included an eyeshadow, face wash, night cream, and hair spray. The value of this month was actual the lowest I have ever seen in a Topbox, but I generally liked the products I received. I was happy to see The Face Shop this month and I was happy with the 2 products, I liked the eyeshadow and was not happy with the hair sample (it was just small and not something I found useful)!

BIRCHBOX CANADA

This month's Birchbox was a bit of a let down. The value was good, but most of it was from a purple lip pencil that just did not work for me at all. The rest of the products were okay - the eye cream is good, but the lotion was too strong, the body wash is okay but not exciting, and the hair spray is not a product I will use. I have to say that after 6 months I have already been questioning my subscription to Birchbox. I will stick it out for a few more months, but if all I keep getting is lotion and body wash, it isn't worth it to me.

I think out of all 4, Ipsy did the best job this month of delivery products I like and will use and gave me a great variety too!!!
