October 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag - Review and Unboxing

Ipsy is one of the inexpensive beauty bag sample subscriptions. You receive 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products each month. The cost is $10 US (+ $4.95 shipping to Canada) - with the exchange rate, I paid $17.19 this month.

Ipsy is generally makeup products with a mix of skin, nail, and hair products based on a beauty profile you complete. There is usually 12-18 products that are selected from each month! You can view your "glam room" online that tells you all the products you will receive each month (I really like to keep it a surprise so I don't check ahead of time!)

Ipsy shipped really fast again this month again for me. The summer was very slow but I have been impressed with the last couple of months!

Here is a look at my October 2014 Ipsy Glambag:
This month's theme is "Beauty Candy"!

Here is a look at the products inside:

Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths ~ sample size 10 cloths for $5 (full size is 30 cloths for $15). When you're too tired to deal with the whole cleanser and wash cloth routine, these on-the-go foaming cloths are the ultimate skin savior. Infused with Icelandic glacial waters and beneficial natural extracts, they sweep away makeup, dirt, oil and other impurities while refreshing and soothing stressed skin. Best of all, there's no water required. It has a clean scent, never tacky. Great for travel or every day! I read a few reviews that said this smelled like a hotel shampoo - but I think it is quite fresh! Since these are great for stressed skin and travel, I am going to bring these to Disneyworld in 2 weeks - I'm sure they will work great!

ECRU Acacia Protein BB Cream for Hair ~ travel size 1 oz. for $12. At first I really confused about a BB Cream for Hair and I didn't think I was going to use it at all. Reading the reviews about this product - it sounds really great. The company is cruelty free and this product can be used on wet hair as a styling product. It can also be used on dry hair like a leave in conditioner. Now that I have read reviews, I am excited to try this.

Jesse's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder Eye Shadow in "Kiwi Shine" ~ full size $3.99. I liked the baked eyeshadow - can be used dry as a light color and wet to create a deeper color. Unfortunately for me, green is not my color. I have blue eyes and I just don't think I can pull this off - I will pass it on. This eyeshadow did get sent out in a variety of 6 shades.

Fig & Rouge Rose Butter Shea Berry Hand Cream ~ full size for $5 (3.95 pounds). I was quite surprised to see this was a full size product at 20 ml but it great for throwing in your purse. I go through a ton of purse size lotions - this one is great! Nice and rich and smells like candy!!

City Color Be Matte Lipstick in "Cappuccino" ~ full size $5. So I have previously received a City Color be matte lipstick in a lip monthly bag and actually really loved it - the matte effect is perfect. This does go on a little dry so i would recommend scrubbing your lips prior and using a light balm underneath. Here is what this color looks like on:

So the Cappuccino color is not my favorite - a little too orange/brown for what I normally wear. I think I will keep it though just in case I want to try something new. I do like the matte look.

So all together for $17, I received 5 products (3 full size) for a total value of $30.99. This actually is a bit lower this month than some of the other bag mixtures (around $40). I am overall happy with the bag - I like the wipes, lotion, and hair cream. I'm not thrilled about the color of the lipstick or the eyeshadow. I thought the bag was decent and had a good value - just not my favorite combination.
