October 2014 Beauty Box 5 - Review and Unboxing

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription box that costs $12 US per month + $3 shipping to Canada. If you sign up for a longer subscription, you get a lower price per box: $30 quarterly, and $99 a year ( plus $3 shipping per month).

I signed up for Beauty Box 5 when they had a promotional code for $12 off a year (and before they started charging for shipping!) - so I got a full year for $87. This worked out to $97.60 Canadian with the exchange rate so I only pay $8.14 a month for this subscription.

Shipping was much improved since last month - this shipped on October 7 & arrived on October 16!

Here is a look at my October 2014 Beauty Box 5:

And here is a closer look at the products I received:

Chapstick Hydration Lock ~ $2.99 full size. A double ended chap stick for day and night - keep your lips protected, soothed and smooth! This is great (chap stick is an essential) - I will not use it just yet as I have a couple of chap sticks to use first.

Extend Your Beauty Cosmetic Tool ~ $5.49 full size - 6 inches. This is a mini spatula to help you get the very last bit of any beauty product. (It is also dishwasher safe for easy cleaning!). This is actually such a good idea - scoop out the last little bit of products, I love it! I will definitely make use of this.

Nanacoco Nail Polish in "Romantic Cruise" ~ full size $3.95. It is a cute baby blue polish - a little more of a summer color than a fall color. It does go on nice and I have included a color swatch. This is actually a color I do not have yet!

Lashem Picture Perfect ~ sample size 5ml for $13.33 (full size is 15ml for $40). Nourishing formula Instantly firms, tightens, and smooths the appearance of skin for a youthful, radiant appearance. This can also double as a primer. My obsession with beauty boxes have given me a new love for serums and the reviews on this one look great - I am excited to try it!

Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in "Pink" ~ sample size 0.176 for $11.35 (full size is 0.31 oz for $19.99). This stain is oil-free and easy to apply - goes on nice and smooth. This actually worked really good as a blush - it is very easy to apply and the color was great.

This box is $15 (with my discount I only paid $8.14) and I received 5 products (3 full sized) for a total of $37.11. At first glance, I wasn't thrilled with this box. But, I am actually quite happy with this box: the tool is awesome, I'm excited to try the serum, the chap stick is an essential, the lip and cheek tint is a good color and so is the polish! i will use everything in the box and it had a great value.

  1. I didn't know the wrinkle reducer was a serum as well! I found mine really tingled a lot when I applied it under my eyes, did you have the same reaction?

    1. I used mine last night and didn't notice that reaction - yikes! Although, I do leave mine a little farther away from my eyes as I use an eye treatment instead!
