Happy 7 Year Blogiversary! Celebrating With A Self Care Giveaway Supporting All Local Calgary Brands!

Today, May 12, marks the 7th Blogiversary of See The World in PINK! It's a little crazy that 7 years ago I started this blog with a little Manicure Monday post - Hearts, Glitter and Stripes! I actually started this blog with reviewing subscription boxes and my manicures (so they have been a regular since the start!)

It took me a couple of years before I started doing full beauty content and really getting in to the makeup and skincare side of things! But, I'm so happy I've expanded in those areas and I love where See The World in PINK has gone over the past 7 years!!! I know I'm still a tiny blog in the beauty world; but, I'm still happy with everything that I've gotten to do over the past few years in this little space!

I purchased everything myself for this giveaway

I always like to use my Blogiversary as a way of saying thank you to YOU for reading my blog or popping in here and there if a post interested you - either way I always appreciate someone reading my posts! I'm so thankful and appreciative that anyone stops by and reads my blog and I always hope you enjoy what you see! Thank you so much for supporting See The World in PINK in any way!

August 2020 - Monthly Empties

Here's a look at my Monthly Empties:

August 2020 - Monthly Empties
Some of the products featured were received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Perfecting Primer ~ travel size (full size is $8.98 CAN). A skin tone perfecting formula that brightens dull skin while decreasing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores to provide a flawless, smooth finish.

I finished this in my most recent Project Pan post - this was a good primer and a really decent drugstore option. I personally have enough primers to last me the next 5 years, so it isn't something I will consider repurchasing for a while; but, it is a good primer!

Fresh, Fun Products for Spring!

It sounds so cliche; but, the word I always associate with Spring is "fresh". New growth and new beginnings - everything about the season just always feels fresh and new. You know what I mean, right?! That fresh scent of Spring is my favourite!

Personally, Calgary is a little slow to get on the fresh train - we had snow this whole past weekend and it's been pretty cold! I'm waiting for that slow warm up, so I can start to see green grass and my garden grow!

March 2020 What I Bought - Monthly Haul!

Happy haul day everyone! Early this year, I set one of my 2020 goals to be actually sticking to my $100 a month Beauty Budget - are you ready to see if I was able to do this?!?

I always love my Monthly Haul posts to share with you everything I picked up (since I can't review everything I buy)! I also am trying to hold myself a little more accountable to buying products that I really want and will actually use!

I purchased everything in this post

Facebook Auction Find ~ $10.00 CAN. This was a brand new mist I picked up on an auction and this was a product that has been huge on my to-try list! This is a full sized product that is regular $37, so I was pretty excited to pick it up!

Five on Friday - March 20, 2020

Happy Friday everyone! (Is it still okay to even say that given the circumstances?!) And, did we even realize that the first day of Spring snuck in yesterday??? Did we notice because I totally forgot! I've had a pretty rough week, but am trying to turn it around and stay as positive as I can!

ONE

Well it's been two weeks since I've done a life update and clearly shit has hit the fan in the last two weeks here - wow! On March 11, 2020 WHO officially declared Covid-19 a pandemic, on March 15, 2020 Calgary declared a state of emergency and the province of Alberta announced that all child care centres and schools were closed indefinitely, and then on March 17, Alberta declared a state of emergency.

So, basically schools are closed until at least the start of the next school year, and daycares we have no idea! We are very lucky to have my Mother in Law, as jails don't close during emergencies so my husband and I still have to work during this time. Most businesses have closed down entirely at least for a couple of weeks and no one is allowed gatherings over 50, but everyone is recommended to stay to themselves and maintain social distancing! So, let's stick to the recommendations to stop the spread!!!

It's Spring now, so it's time to share my Spring 2020 Reading List! (And, seriously if now isn't a great time to pick a new book it, I don't know when is!) I'm starting with my fiction picks, and I will share some non-fiction books soon too! And really, most of these are fantasy style books, because I need an escape before bed each night right now! And don't go out to get a book - we have some local book stores offering free delivery and Indigo has free shipping on right now too!
