I just received my May Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "Against All Odds" - each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well. They often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription! (Also, I put everything away and didn't take a picture, so check out my instagram or youtube for the video!)

Time to share my TBR list for May! I will always pick up a book when I see a gorgeous cover and I've collected a few lovely ones lately - these are all stunning covers and they all sort of have creepy weird vibes, which feels like a fun theme for the month! I always try and plan my reading with themes; but, honestly, I usually manage to stick to the theme for most of the month, then I grab something I'm in the mood for, which is usually different!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a great week! I sure did - my dad, step-mom and younger brother came for a visit to meet Elliott and it was so nice to have them here! Now, it is the long weekend and my older son has 4 days off of school so I should come up with something fun for us to do!

Lush's Mother's Day Collection!

Mother's Day is tomorrow - Sunday, May 14, 2017! My favorite gift to receive is always Lush goodies - you can check out my review of the gift baskets my husband and son got me last year here, and in 2015 here! 

This year Mother's Day is extra-special to me - we welcomed baby Elliott in to the world just under 3 weeks ago! My family is complete and i'm excited to spend my first Mother's Day with all my boys!!

I just participated in a Book and Mug swap with some fellow Canadian Beauty Bloggers and this was my present I just got in the mail! Can you believe I haven't read The Handmaid's Tale yet?! It has been on my to-read list forever so I am looking forward to it! Plus, this mug is adorable and the candle smells like coconut! Love!

Hi guys - I have to be honest, I have had an actual week from hell and am so happy it is the weekend! 

I'm sorry I really tried to stay up on my posts this week, but I know I missed Wine and Mask Wednesday (I worked an overtime shift until 11 pm so there was no time - instead of doing a recap post, I thought I would nicely apologize and make it up to you next week!)

Happy Friday Everyone - this has been a crazy week for me so I am so happy for the weekend!

It's Mother's Day this weekend!!! I'm wishing every Mom out there the happiest of weekends. I have plans for breakfasts with both my mom and my mother-in-law for both days of the weekend and I will make sure to send my love to step-mom (who lives out of town) and to all my Grandmas!

YOU GUUUUUYYYYYSSSSS! Okay, so when I originally saw this Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette I told myself I didn't need it! It was an Ulta exclusive meaning it wasn't easily available to Canadians, but recently a fellow Canadian Beauty Blogger made a trip down to the states and found an Ulta that still had lots left - I totally jumped on the chance and bought myself this awesome little gift! Can't wait to dig in to it (it's also a little more chocolate scented than PB scented...)

I love when Mother's Day comes around - I am both a daughter and a mother, so I get the best of both worlds on this day! 

Personally, Mother's Day isn't just about presents - it is about appreciating your Mom and taking the time to thank her for everything she has done for you! (I have a step-mom and Grandmas too that I always remember to do something special for, or if they are out of town I make sure to call and send all of my love!)

On that note, I do love giving gifts for Mother's Day - I know my Mom personally does not take enough time to treat herself so she deserves a little something! Here are some suggestions for a great Mother's Day gift:

1. Treat Mom To a Pedicure (or their favorite spa treatment)

This is probably my Mom's favorite spa treatment and she never just treats herself to one! I always get myself one too and make a lunch date and spa day out of it! It is the perfect way to treat her and to spend some quality time together! 

2. Find a Subscription Box Suited To Her Taste

Everyone has their own individual tastes, but the box I would recommend most for Mother's Day would be Bath Time Box - pictured here is the March 2016 box.
