Manicure Tuesday - Shimmery Pink Flaky Nails

Happy Monday everyone - I hope you all had a great weekend!

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

Did these bright pink shiny nails catch your attention?! Good they should - this month's Mani Monday theme is activism and while I planned somewhat to focus on Pride and Indigenous issues (given that it's pride and Indigenous history month), however the U.S. and their landmark decision to overturn a 50 year old law, is crazy enough that we need to talk about women's rights and health access.

Personally, I can't believe that gun laws and access have more rights than woman and health - the states that are overturning these laws are not increasing health access or social supports, or anything, it is just meant to control women and their bodies. I know we are in Canada, and our health access is a little more secure, but still a lot of our politicians are in support of this decision and being anti-choice is always something that people can bring up. A women's choice is something that needs to be protected here too!

The products I used for this week's manicure are:

This manicure was easy to do - 2 coats of base polish and a coat of shimmery flakies over top. I finished with a gel manicure because I'm going on holidays so I need them to last!

So, normally part of my activism nails has been me highlighting a non-profit or charity that's assisting with the issue at hand, but this week I don't know one - and I'd like to. If you know of a Canadian agency that helps bring women who need assistance to and from appointments, or an American agency fighting the overturn of Roe vs. Wade let me know.

Or even with education, you know that you can not personally like abortions, while allowing other people the choice to do so - forced birth and more children in care and poverty is not the solution we are seeking. Being anti-choice just puts women, especially disadvantaged women at an even greater disadvantage, and that's not okay.

As always, make sure to check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see their allyship nails too!

  1. Having Roe vs Wade overturned is horrifying and seeing people actively support it, especially other women is so backwards!

    1. Honestly, it's so disheartening that this has happened and how quickly states have made it illegal, I can't understand it at all
