Beautylish Lucky Bag 2022 Unboxing

Every year on Boxing Day (or December 26 for you non-Canadians), Beautylish releases the pre-order for their Lucky Bags which ships in January - if you are interested, these sell out quickly on the day of so make sure your ready on that date! These boxes are $94.00 CAN + $18.45 shipping to Canada; but, you are guaranteed at least $200.00 CAN worth of makeup and skincare. They are all totally random, so it is a complete surprise what you get, and I love surprises! Some bags are extra lucky and include gift cards, etc.

I picked up the regular lucky bag for fair/medium skin. There was also XL lucky bags, Jeffree Star Lucky Bags, and a Buy One Gift One as other options. I'm a total sucker for these mystery boxes and this is my 4th year getting one - you can see my past unboxings here!

Here is a look at my 2022 Beautylish Lucky Bag:

I purchased this box - this post contains affiliate links

The Lucky Bags are described as "Lucky Bags are a Japanese New Year custom that inspired up to create our own. The shisa on this year's Lucky Bag are known as guardians in Okinawa, Japan. They are said to ward off evil spirits while keeping good spirits in. We hope the surprises inside invite you to leave the bad behind and take the good with you in to 2022."

I received seven products in my Lucky Bag from Natasha Denona, Wayne Goss, Good Molecules, Ardell, Units, Sonia G, and Kitsch. Here is a closer look at everything that came in my 2022 Lucky Bag:

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2022 Unboxing

Natasha Denona Glam Face Palette in Light ~ $78.00 CAN. Do it all with Natasha Denona’s Glam Face Palette. Here for a limited time, the palette includes both eye and cheek essentials in universal neutral tones to flatter light to medium skin tones—including five ultra-pigmented eye shadows in Natasha Denona’s iconic, buttery-smooth formulas and two highlighting shades for an extreme glow. Housed in luxe packaging, this all-over palette is perfect for traveling and creating everyday looks on the go.

This is a pretty palette and I do love Natasha Denona - I think this is good for travelling; however, I do not typically reach for palettes that have face and eye products all in one. I like the neutrals, and the blush shade looks pretty, but I'm not sure this is something I'm going to get a lot of use out of. (I saw so many boxes come with the Hindash palette and I was reeeaaalllly hoping to get that one, so I might try and swap this one!)

Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream ~ $11.00 CAN. Help reveal smoother, firmer-looking skin with this gentle, fragrance-free retinol treatment from Good Molecules. Formulated with .1% retinol, Gentle Retinol Cream helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and lack of elasticity. Nourishing, soothing ingredients help to hydrate and minimize dryness and irritation.

I've finally found a retinol that works for my skin, so I'm going to use that one up before starting another - this does sound like a gentle formula so I'm willing to give it a shot. There is usually always a Good Molecules product in every Lucky Bag as I believe it's their "house" brand skincare. I do like that it's all really affordable.

Ardell Mega Volume 250 Lashes ~ $10.00 CAN. 3D Mega Volume Lashes offer multi-layered lashes with tapered tips that blend naturally with your lashes for truly lavish multi-dimensional results. They create full-on volume for maximum lash attention.

Ardell are pretty well liked lashes - these are a little too big for my liking, so I probably won't use these. They are fine, but I rarely reach for falsies!

Wayne Goss The High Shine Gloss in Tulip ~ $29.00 CAN. Lip gloss is back and better than ever. The High Shine Gloss envelops lips in a smooth, brilliant shine that lasts all day and never gets sticky. Cold-pressed botanical extracts and conditioning emollients nourish lips while adding a lacquer-like finish.

The shade Tulip is described as "nude beige with shimmer" and it's not for me - it's too light and the formula seems too thick to wear as a topper. I have been wanting to try Wayne Goss makeup, but nothing has called to me yet. Unfortunately, I don't love a light lip shade look, so I'm going to pass this on.

Kitsch Towel Scrunchies ~ $25.00 CAN. These luxuriously soft microfiber scrunchies keep your hair back after the shower, while drying your hair! These scrunchies accommodate all hair lengths while providing comfort during your post-shower routines.

Interesting - these are microfibre scrunchies, so you can use them while drying your hair or waiting too. I'm not sure this is something that I would use at all - or wouldn't think to bring them along swimming or too the beach. I'm more likely to braid my hair or something. It's not something I will use personally, but interesting idea.

Units Orange Series Eye Set ~ $43.00 CAN. Add 4 vegan, cruelty-free brushes from UNITS’ Orange Series to your kit for flawless eye makeup application. The ultra-soft bristles apply product smoothly while the iconic orange handles add a pop of color to any brush collection.

I like the bright orange brushes - these do look nice and fluffy and look like good brushes. This set comes with a tapered eye brush, a flat eye brush, a crease eye brush and a pencil brush. Probably what I will get the most use out of from this box.

Sonia G The Brush Envelope ~ $96.00 CAN. This slim, origami-inspired brush envelope from Sonia G. folds out to hold six full-sized makeup brushes. A removable protective flap keeps your brushes safe and secure, and there’s even a small storage pocket to hold cotton pads or tissues.

Alright, I didn't even know this was Sonia G by looking at it - and seriously, I know they are an expensive brush brand; but, this may be the most absurd cost, $96 for storage of 6 brushes?! That's $16 per brush storage - I guess if you're spending an insane amount on your brushes, you need to pay to protect them?! Anyways, this actually isn't really big enough for brush storage if I bring them anywhere. (Plus, last year I got a brush roll as well!)

So, I spent around $120 on this box, and I received about $292 worth of products - this might be a really great box for someone, but sadly it's a bit of a miss for me! I'm a little bummed and I know there is a chance in a surprise box that I won't love everything. But, if I'm being honest, I haven't loved the last couple of these boxes and I think that this is probably my last one! I think I will take my $120 and spend it on something I've really been wanting!

  1. I didn't even bother this year. I had a bit of fomo, but it feels like they have gone downhill the past few years.

    1. I really think I will skip it coming up this year - I always have FOMO, so it will be hard, but the last few haven't been worth it.

  2. I didn't get one this year because I haven't even used the stuff from last year's! I took that as a sign that I wasn't meant to get one, but I'm sad your Lucky Bag didn't work out!

  3. If you’re interested in selling any of it let me know! I think I would have really liked this box! I love this gentle retinol cream from Good Molecules- and I like that it’s actually New product releases in this variation. However the Sonia G. Envelope is absolutely absurd but everything of hers is crazy expensive and I have NO CLUE why hahaha. But I really think I’d love the ND face palette, the Wayne Goss gloss and the kitch mega towel scrunchies since I almost always air dry my hair. Anyways if you would like to consider chatting my IG is: @chloheadtotoe and my Name is Chloe :)
