Rare Beauty is of course Selena Gomez's makeup brand - the goal is to break down unrealistic standards of perfection. Rare Beauty is not about being someone else, but being who you are! I like the message and I do like that the brand overall has a minimalistic vibe!

This Rare Beauty "Selena’s Faves 4 Piece Mini Set" came out for the holidays but it's actually still available on the Sephora site for $38.00 CAN. I love these little mini sets as a way to try out a few different products from a brand - this set comes with a liquid blush & highlighter, a mascara and a lipstick, so it helps to get a good feeling of the brand!
Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in "Joy" ~ sample size shown (full size is $26.00 CAN). A weightless, long-lasting liquid blush that blends and builds beautifully for a soft, healthy flush. Available in matte and dewy finishes.
This is a liquid blush and that's not a formula I typically use - I've just started getting in to cream formulas, so liquid blushes are pretty new to me! This formula comes in radiant and matte shades. Joy is described as a "dewy muted peach" shade and it's really pretty.
Here is a look at Joy swatched on my arm as well as smoothed in to my arm. To use this formula, you dot one or two dots on the cheeks and then rub the colour in with your fingers. I used a duo fibre brush to do this, and I'm not sure it was the best - it maybe didn't smooth it in as much and the friction from your fingers might make it a bit better to smooth around. It was a beautiful shade and I do think with my using this a little more, I will like this formula!
Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in "Mesmerize" ~ sample size shown (full size is $29.00 CAN). A silky, second-skin liquid highlighter that creates a lasting, soft, and luminous finish.
This is a liquid highlighter, and this is a formula that I've tried in a few other liquid highlighters, so it's a formula that I'm getting used to and enjoying! The shade Mesmerize is described as "rose-bronze" and it's very pretty!
Here is a look at Mesmerize swatched on my wrist - I think this shade is borderline close to being too dark on me, but it's really pretty! You apply it the same way as the blush - dot it on and blend it in. I'm really impressed with the formula, it blends in so smoothly and it's looks really nice on the cheeks. It can be applied lightly for a subtle look or built up for a bold glow - I love that the finish is just nice and radiant on the cheeks!
Here's a look at the Liquid Blush in Joy and Highlight in Mesmerize on the cheeks - both are so pretty on the cheeks. I love the formula of the highlighter, and I like the blush formula, it's just something I'm not used to, so I have to use it more because the shade is lovely!
Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara ~ sample shown (full size is $26.00 CAN). A universal mascara with a unique eye-hugging brush to lift, lengthen, curl, and volumize every lash type for a lusher look.
This mascara is meant to volumize, curl and lengthen the lashes - I'm always looking for a volumizing mascara so I was excited to try this formula! I personally like the wand, I'm always looking for a fluffier bristled wand as I think they are the best for the volume I'm looking for!
Here's a look at the Perfect Strokes mascara on my lashes - I think it looks really pretty on the lashes! It adds some serious length and curl to the lashes, and absolutely love how it looks on my eyes with a neutral shadow or bare lids underneath like this look! It really makes my lashes pop. But, it doesn't quite add as much volume as I'm looking for in a formula, as with darker looks it can make my lashes not as thick. But, I want to see how good of a layering mascara it would be because I love the length it adds!
Rare Beauty Lip Soufflé Matte Cream Lipstick in "Inspire" ~ $26.00 CAN. A weightless air-whipped lip cream that hugs lips with rich color and nourishing hydration that gives a soft velvety matte finish.
This is whipped matte lip cream and I'm surprised that they included a red shade in this little set because they usually just include a neutral shade, but I love that! The shade Inspire is described as a "bright red" - I would call it an orange or coral red shade!
Here's a look at the shade Inspire swatched on my arm - it's a really pretty shade, feels perfect for Summer and I love the soft matte finish of the lippie!
Here's a look at Inspire swatched on my lips - I love the finish of this lipstick and the shade. But, I'm not a fan of the formula; it didn't full smooth evenly on the lips, and it really clung to every dry spot and settled in to the lines of my lips. This was the only product of this set that I didn't like!
Here's a final look with all the products in the set! I think my favourite product is the highlighter, and I really like the blush and mascara! The matte lip souffle didn't work for me, but overall I'm really happy with Rare Beauty! There is cream blushes and tinted lip balms and more products I'd like to try from the brand!
