Monthly Beauty & Book Haul ~ January 2022

I'm switching up my Monthly Haul posts a little bit this year, because I'm actually *trying* to stick to a bit of a budget! I've been going a little crazy on the beauty and books front, so I just want to be a little more thoughtful in my purchases. So. I'm trying to keep my beauty and book purchases to $200 a month - we'll see!

I do always love my Monthly Haul posts - it's a good way to keep track of everything that I picked up each month. I don't always blog about everything I pick up (I try to), but if you ever spot anything in here that you really want me to talk about, let me know!

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

Indigo Haul ~ $78.75 CAN. Ooooh Indigo is a spot to pick up beauty & books now - it was basically made for me! I have been really wanting to try an LED light therapy mask, so I found this Auria mask for just under $80 (plus I get a small discount). Also, Janet Fitch was one of my favourite authors (with White Oleander), so this book, The Revolution of Marina M. was on sale for $8 plus a discount, I had to pick it up as well!

Book Outlet Haul ~ $53.13 CAN. Ooookay, is this not a huge amount of brand new books for just over $50?! Bookoutlet had a 30% off sale for the whole week after Boxing Day, and I picked up a few newer books that had caught my eye, like Fire Keeper's Daughter and Ariadne, plus a few older titles by authors I like for great deals! If you haven't used Bookoutlet and you are interested, check them out! I do have a referral code that saves you $5 off an order of $25 or more here: https://bookoutlet.ca/loyalty/referral/xXCMDyB?c=url

Amazon Beauty Purchases ~ $50.32 CAN. I try not use Amazon a ton, but sometimes it can't be helped and I've been needing a few staples - the Dr. Teals Foaming Bath is a must repurchase now, best bubble bath ever! It's so damn soothing. I also needed a new pressed setting powder, liquid eye liner, face mist and mascara - these were all great prices, and they only formula I've tried previously is the Lash Paradise Mascara!

Indigo Books ~ $37.40 CAN. How stunning is this Daughter of the Moon Goddess book?! I had to preorder this book and I can't wait to dive in to it (it sounds great too). Also, the Three Sisters is a book I listened to on audio and goes with the Tattooist of Auschwitz series - when I enjoy a series and know I will recommend it to people and share it, then I like to get it for my collection, especially if I can find it used or on sale!

Scratch Monthly Mani Kit ~ $19.38 CAN. This is one of the only subscriptions I still get pretty regularly - I love these wraps and they are my go-to when I don't have a lot of time to do my nails. I will only get this every once in a while when I like the designs and this was a great one!

Another Indigo Book ~ $13.15 CAN. I ordered a few things from Indigo, and couldn't resist adding this book in - this book is so well reviewed and I can't wait to have a good romance to read!

Alright, I spent $252.13 this month on books and beauty - slightly over what my budget is, but nothing crazy! The beauty products were staples and one was an investment, and the books were really great deals mostly!
