Wellll... Natasha Denona just came along and released the most beautiful (and most expensive palette) for the holiday season and I couldn't resist it! Also, it released during the Sephora VIB sale so at least I saved a little bit on this!!!
I purchased this palette myself - this post contains affiliate links
Also, I was impressed with the colour story - I love that it's a little muted, a little pastely (it's the perfect Spring shades to me), and it's actually a little unique in my collection and I don't have a palette like it!
Natasha Denona Triochrome Eyeshadow Palette ~ $170.00 CAN. A palette with three different pressed-pigment, multi-chrome shades in the center of each row and their complementary tones to complete a makeup look.
I haven't actually purchased a Natasha Denona before - they are usually beautiful, but I always wanted a palette to really call to me for the price you pay. I have tried the Natasha Denona eyeshadow formula in the mini palettes before and I quite like it - I own 4 of them!
They've made each row across meant to be used together if you aren't sure where to start and I love that this palette is all matte, expect for the multi-chromes! For me this works well; however, I understand that if you prefer deeper looks or have a deeper skintone, this may not go deep enough for you, but I love the amount of mid-tones this palette has.
Andradite ~ pastel mint
Scarab ~ poison green/warm gold/blue
Ion ~ acid green
Vert ~ vibrant mustard
Manganese ~ vibrant eggplant
Kinetic ~ purple/pink/muted green
Redox ~ dusty lilac
Tungsten ~ toasted mauve
Plutonium ~ burnt mandarine
Color flip ~ fuchsia/nude/dusty green
Garmon ~ peachy taupe
Diatonic ~ vibrant light coral
Seriously, how pretty are these shadows?! The multichromes are stunning and I really like the shades that were included in this palette. They are super pigmented applied with a dry brush, but look amazing with a wet brush or applied with the fingers. The formula of the mattes is soft and blendable - they build up and blend nicely. There was a little kick-up when tapping the brush in the shadow, and a little fallout when applying the shadows, but nothing that bothered me much (it was enough to notice, but not much more than that!)
For the first makeup look, I used all 5 shadows from the top green row and they are so stunning - I'm really happy with this look!
For the second look, I also used all 5 shadows in the full second row and the purples of this palette are really lovely!
For this look I started out with Vertex (bottom row) as the base shadow and then applied Redox in the crease. I deepened the crease with Tungsten and applied Manganese to the outer corner. Then I applied Kinetic all over the lid and Naga with a little Color Flip (from the bottom row) to the inner corner. I finished the look with Tungsten on the lower lash line.
Again, I was so happy with how this look turned out - the purples are gorgeous and they all applied and wore so well!
For the final look, I didn't want to use only one row and wanted to play with all the colours in the palette! I thought it was so fun and the colours in the palette just have me very inspired to play with color (and it's been a long time since a palette has done that!)
For this look I started with Vertex as the base shadow and Diatonic in the crease. Then I used Garmon and Tungsten in the out corner and in the lower crease. Then I applied Color Flip to the lid. I applied Ion on the inner corner and Plutonium to the upper crease of the inner corner. Then I applied Vert to the lower lash line.
I had so much fun with this look and it's not something I typically do, but I really liked how it turned out!
I have a lot of thoughts on the Natasha Denona Triochrome Palette, but it can basically be summed up as I love it. The colour story is so fun and the shadows are stunning - the mattes apply and build well and look really good all day. I have actually been using this for daily matte looks for work and I'm so happy it can be used that way! The multi-chromes are stunning and I love the shades. I will say they can cling to texture (you can see in the pictures, my eyelids have been a little swollen), but that doesn't bother me - shimmery shadows tend to show texture and eyelids typically have texture so I don't mind.
The shadows stay bold and pigmented all day and I love that. I do realize this palette is pricey and it's not for everyone, but I honestly think you are paying for a great quality product. (Of course, there is great quality eyeshadows for less, but that's not for me to say what shadows you should buy) - if you have been considering this palette and the price isn't going to hurt your bank account, I don't think you will be disappointed with this!
You managed to get so many great looks out of this! Im in love with the bottom middle duo chrome!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And, yes, that is the best shadow in the palette! It's so lovely!
DeleteThese shadows look so pretty and pigmented! I love the last look you did :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI wish I still felt comfortable wearing bold shades. This looks so pretty. I love that it is sort of 3 palettes in one with the greens, purples and pinks
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that it's set up with 3 distinct rows too!
