I always look forward to my Shop My Stash looks every month - it's been such a great way to dive in to my makeup collection and just play!
The primer, concealer, and highlighter palette were received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links
I've also been using my Shop My Stash posts as a way to see if I can "Dupe The Vibes" of new eyeshadow palettes that I want to pick up; but, don't really need to because I have close enough products in my collection! I'm well aware that I buy a ton of makeup and I now a lot of it is duplicates; but, one of the reasons that I put myself on a budget is so that I can be more mindful and not buy absolutely everything that catches my eye!
So, recently Pat McGrath Labs released a little six pan palette - the Mothership Rose Decadence Eyeshadow Palette and its lovely. I personally love those palettes (I got a couple on sale and I really like it), but it's pricey and I know I have similar showers in my collection, so it didn't feel like a "need to have".
Of course, I never want to discourage anyone from buying a palette that they are interested, this is just a way for me to have a little control my consumerism!
The palettes and eyeshadows that I used for this look are:
-Pat McGrath Labs MTHRSHP Subversive La Vie En Rose Eyeshadow Palette
-ColourPop The Scorpio Pressed Powder Shadow
-Marc Jacobs Beauty See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow in Star Dust
Here's a look at the Pat McGrath Labs palette swatches from the Sephora website and mine are matched up shadow by shadow beneath so you can see the comparison of my dupes! I matched each shade as close with the palettes (or singles) I have as well as similar finishes. I think I pulled off the overall vibe pretty well (certainly not exact dupes), but of course, as I've never tried the Rose Decadence palette, I can't say that these are true dupes, that's why I'm duping the vibes!
The shadows that I used are:
-W'Sup Beaches from the Too Faced Papaya Pop Eyeshadow palette (compared to Pat McGrath Pink Champagne - warm rose gold shimmer)
-Papaya Don't Preach from the Too Faced Papaya Pop Eyeshadow palette (compared to Pat McGrath Peach Dusk - coral satin matte)
-Rose Risque from the Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Subversive La Vie En Rose Eyeshadow Palette (compared to Pat McGrath Fuchsia Flame - warm fuchsia duo chrome)
-The Scorpio ColourPop single pressed shadow, or as well in the ColourPop Zodiac palette (compared to Pat McGrath Hedonistic Rose - rose plum matte)
-Star Dust Marc Jacobs Beauty See-quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow (compared to Pat McGrath Scandalous - copper metallic)
-Golden Nectar from the Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Subversive La Vie En Rose Eyeshadow (compared to Pat McGrath Golden Honey - antique gold metallic)
For this look, I used Rose Risque in the middle crease and then I blended it out with Papaya Don't Preach through the upper crease. Then I deepened the outer corner with The Scorpio and applied Star Dust to the lid. I applied W'Sup Beaches to the inner corner and Rose Risque to the lower lash line.
This gave me a fun, sunsety vibe and I love the coral and pink with gold all together!
The products I used to finish the eye look are:
-Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer
-ColourPop No Filter Matte Concealer in Light 14 (for cutting the crease)
-Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel in Dark Brown
-MAC Cosmetics Eye Brows in "Spiked"
And, the products I used for my face are:
-NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil in Natural Soft Beige
-Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Butter Bronzer in Bronzer
-L'Oreal Paradise Enchanted Scented Blush in "Fantastical"
-Shared Planet Sea Turtle Highlighting Palette in White Sands
-ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick in Belle
I finished the look with primer, foundation, concealer, powders, bronzer, blush, highlighter, and lipstick. I'm really happy with this pinky coral look and how it turned out!
For me, this certainly made my realize that as gorgeous as the Pat McGrath Rose Decadence palette is, I don't need it in my collection. It's lovely, but I certainly have all the shades in my collection (and two of the shades are from a pre-existing Pat McGrath palette!)
Have you guys tried Duping The Vibes of a palette from your stash?! I really like doing it!
