Five on Friday - June 19, 2020

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone had a good week - oh man, it was good to get back in the office and back to work; but, I am tired this week and am happy it's Friday!

Novelly Yours Candle Box May 2020
I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I was very excited when I saw there was a new Hunger Games book coming out this year - The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (I've already read it and I really enjoyed it!) It was an original story of President Snow when he was 18 and had his first real exposure to the games. I am definitely a Hunger Games fan and I loved the books, in fact I had just re-listened to them last year with my older son on a basketball roadtrip we were on! So, I was also very excited when Novelly Yours announced that their May Candle Box was going to be "Tributes and Victors" and inspired by the characters in the original trilogy!

The Novelly Yours Exclusive Candle Box is $35.00 US + shipping. I will be honest that shipping was not cheap to Canada (best to find out on your own if you want to order, but it is a heavier box that it comes in!). Each Novelly Yours box comes with one 9 oz jar, two 4 oz jars, and two 2 oz jars, plus other bookish goodies, all currently designed by Novelly Yours! All of the candles and items are exclusive to this box and only any overstock would be sold in stores! (The books are not included in the box!)

The May Tributes and Victors box included:
  • Katniss District 12 ~ balsam, meadow, honeysuckle, berries
  • Peeta District 12 ~ bread, vanilla musk, clove, cinnamon dough, wood fired oven
  • Finnick District 4 ~ ocean tide, kelp, blue sugar, clean breeze
  • Johanna District 7 ~ forest, green leave, amber, maple sugar
  • Rue District 11 ~ apple blossom, peach, magnolia mint
  • enamel pin, art print, wood mark, book mark, magnet, nightlock lip balm and Haymitch's butter rum coffee
Everything is so stunning and the candles are amazing! It also comes with the lovely printed box too. This is such a lovely, indulgent box especially when you love the fandoms they are focusing on!

TWO

I mentioned a little while ago that I was really trying to focus back on digital scrapbooking and trying to get caught up, so I was very excited to have some photobooks arrive in the mail. I recently finished a whole year, plus 2 vacation books! (I'm already half-way done the following year and am loving getting back in to scrapbooking).

THREE

I'm so happy the Calgary Zoo is finally opened back up again! They have lots of precautions (one way paths) and timed tickets and it was really great to get the kids back out to see the animals - we drive by it most days and Elliott is always asking when it will be open again, so finally!

FOUR

My older son, Damian is finished Grade 9 as of this week! Wednesday was their last day of classes and I can't believe it, he is done Grade 9 and Junior High. I am a little sad for him he missed out on "grad" celebrations from Junior High and he was also really hoping to get an athletic award again this year (he's gotten awards in both grade 7 and 8) and it would have been a good boost going in to High School, but I'm so proud of him. I can't believe he is going in to High School in September! Whoa!

FIVE

I finally got another Topbox Circle mission - it's been a super long time since I've gotten anything (since they switched to a new platform online), but I did get this St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter body wash to try from them!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Those Novelly Yours boxes always look so much fun!
It sucks that the kids are missing out on school things, huh? My daughter is going into grade 1 in September. They don't do a kindergarten graduation here, but she's still missing out on their end of school year celebration and such.
That body wash sounds really nice!

    1. I'm obsessed with these candle boxes, but I'm so stocked up now I better not buy another candle for a long time! Ahh - it's been such a hard way to end the year for any grade!

  2. Is it weird to say that I want to smell Peeta? I just reread all the books plus the new one and rewatched all the movies.
