Five on Sunday - June 24, 2018

Hi everyone! I'm so happy it's the weekend - this week has been crazy busy! We were out of town all of last weekend, so it just feels like all week we've been trying to play catch up and I need a weekend day to relax and get stuff done around the house! Is relaxing even a thing with a 1 year old around the house?! also he has been up every day this week at 4 or 4:30 am and I don't even know what to do with myself....

ONE

Ahh... this past weekend we went and stayed at the in-laws cabin in Fairmont and enjoyed a great weekend with family and friends. We took the little ones to the Fairmont Hot Springs, kayaked down the Columbia River and enjoyed some relaxing time while we could!

TWO

While we were out in Fairmont , we celebrated Father's Day! Elliott is currently in a phase where everything is all about Dada, and Damian of course just thinks Mitch is amazing, so we had a great day.

THREE

Also, because I was super slow at getting this post up this weekend, little Elliott is now 1 year and 2 months old! He is a walking, talking, eating machine; but, not so amazing in the sleeping department! Guess we can't have it all...

FOUR

Gawd... I love adorable baby clothes so much! How ridiculously cute is this Grin and Bear it shirt by Silas + the Sloth?! I haaaadddd to pick this up for Elliott - it is a local Calgary company and I cannot resist local baby cloths! I also ended up picking up 2 handmade pants from local companies - Prairie Mountain Co. and the Stitched Arrow on an auction!

FIVE

This week for my palette of the week, I went with 2 - the Smashbox CoverShot palettes in Sultry and Ablaze! I absolutely looove Ablaze - it's so gorgeous and perfect for Summer. I picked this up in the Fall last year in a holiday set so I didn't reach for this much over the Winter; but, now that I've dipped in to it, I will be going back a lot! (I do think it could have used a lighter matte transition shade, but that it just personal preference!) Now, the Sultry palette was limited edition in the holiday set, and it was just okay. I think I'm going to pass it on - it's not my favorite shade range and I just found it was too dark and muddy on my eyes. Also, the formula was a touch too powdery.

And, here is a typical work look I created with the Ablaze palette - these quick palette of the week posts will always have work looks, as the goal of my palette of the week series is to get me to use the same palette for the whole work week!

I do love the Summery warm shades in the palette! If you want to see swatches of both the Smashbox Sultry and Ablaze palettes, my original post is here

Also, the previous week I used the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette as I was super excited with them talking about the new palettes being released (they are delayed now though....) Anyways, I don't need to talk about the palette much because I love this palette! I has great variety, great quality and you can come up with a ton of looks! You can see my original swatch and review post here and this also made my Favorite products of 2017

Hope you all have had a great weekend!
