February 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag - Unboxing and Review

Ipsy is one of the original inexpensive beauty bag sample subscriptions. You receive 4-5 deluxe sample size or full size products each month. The cost is $10 US (+ $4.95 shipping to Canada - you will have to factor in our crazy exchange rate right now!)

Ipsy is generally make-up products with a mix of skincare, nail polish, and hair products based on a beauty profile you complete. There is usually 12-18 products that are selected from each month! You can view your "glam room" online that tells you all the products you will receive each month. You also receive a make-up bag each month with your products.

February 2016 Ipsy Glam BagIpsy always ships out in it's signature pink mailer, and here is a look at what came inside! The theme for February is "Pretty in #IpsyPink" - and how cute is this bag?! I love it this month!
It's a good mix of products, but I can't really say at first glance that I am too happy about getting a nail file! But, here is a closer look at the products:
February 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag

Dr. Brandt Skincare PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator ~ sample 0.25 oz for $8.50 CAN (full size is 2 oz for $68). Dr. brandt PoreDermabrasion is a unique physical and chemical exfoliator and pore perfector in one. No matter how old you are or what type of skin you have, enlarged pores are a huge concern. Shrink them down to the vanishing point while smoothing and evening skin’s texture.

I have been wanting to try this product for a while now so I am happy to see it in this month's bag! This sounds interesting to apply - wet face, apply and allow to absorb and rinse off! I will see how it goes!

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer Oil ~ sample size 0.13 oz for $6.37 CAN (full size is 1 oz for $49). Fall in love with your skin — before you put on makeup — with the first ever primer specially formulated in a lightweight, lustrous oil. This fast-absorbing hero blend of 15 essential and lipid-rich plant oils penetrate instantly to moisturize your face for seamless foundation application with a dewy, youthful finish. In fact, you might think twice before you reach for your makeup.

I love that this is a fairly new product for Ipsy to include and it is very different - I have tried a lot of primers, but not a primer oil! I'm looking forward to using this and getting a "glow" and a dewy finish with my makeup!

February 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in "I'm Kind Of A Big Deal" ~ full size $15 US. Formulated with love in the USA and EU, Trust Fund Beauty is always vegan and cruelty-free. If you’re looking to minimize the toxic content you’re exposed to, and you believe you can be beautiful without being cruel, Trust Fund Beauty is the indie cosmetics company for you. This baby pink shade will let everyone know that you really are a big deal!

This shade is described as a Dusty Rose on the website - this is a really great formula and I love this color!

Margaret Dabbs London Miniature Crystal Nail File ~ full size £12.00 - $16.82 US. The Margaret Dabbs London Glass Crystal Nail File is slim and elegant, but most importantly, effective to use. The Crystal Nail File will immediately provide a smoother, finer finish to your nails. The fine abrasive crystal finish protects the nails, making them less prone to splitting and can be used on finger and toe nails.

I'm slightly torn on this product - I actually love the idea of a crystal nail file, so I do like it. But, it's just not very exciting to receive a nail file in my Ipsy bag... at least it's a really nice nail file..

February 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag

tre'StiQue Baby Blush Stick in Bora Bora Coral ~ mini size 0.04 oz for $6.48 US (full size is 0.21 oz for $34). A new generation cream-gel blush. Formulated to glide on skin with an elegant silky touch, leaving cheeks with a pop of soft color.

I love how cute the Trestique products are and I know there are some loyalists out there who collect all the products when Ipsy has them! This is pretty, but I just don't use cream blushes - I am going to pass this on!

Ipsy came with 5 products (2 full sized), and a total value of $53.17. This is a pretty normal value for Ipsy, which is great. Overall this bag wasn't bad - I am happy with the exfoliant, nail polish and primer oil and will use the nail file. The only item I will not use is the blush and I will pass it on.
