Five on Friday - April 5, 2024 ~ After The Forest Book Review, Month of Vegetarian/Pescatarian Meals, Easter, Weekend at the Cabin, and New Makeup Bag

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a good week!

ONE

I purchased everything in this post

I just talked about my March books on yesterday's post; but, After The Woods by Kell Woods still deserves it's own post because I really enjoyed it! This is an adult fantasy/fairytale retelling. This was a Hansel and Gretel "retelling" but set 15 years or so in the future when Hans is squandering the family money and Greta is baking some magical gingerbread to keep their family afloat. While the village folks are starting to question if she is a witch and the ruling people are looking to collect more money, Greta isn't sure what she should do. There are also dangerous creatures lurking around - wolves and bears in the forest nearby and the lines are blurred on what is good and evil. I loved the twists, the sentient book, the magic types, the potential romance. This focused very much in the beginning of characters and ambience and the plot really picked up in the second half and I enjoyed it!

TWO

It's been almost two years I went vegetarian and I've been enjoying sharing my veggie meals. I hope that you guys have been enjoying seeing all the recipes and veggie meal ideas! I'm not preachy about going vegetarian, but I do think everyone should reduce their meat consumption, so even if one day a week you want to do meatless Monday, hoping you will find some good suggestions! Also, I'm also going to include some of my eating out meals instead of just cooked for a little more inspiration if you are looking to eat vegetarian while out!

(Also, this month there are a few pescatarian meals in here as I eat fish and seafood once in a while!)

I also have codes for $90 off a GoodFood box so leave me your email if you are interested!

THREE

Hope you all had a good Easter weekend last weekend - we had a couple of egg hunts and enjoyed a fun family weekend at the cabin! I was hoping to get some cute baking in but naturally I ran out of time!

FOUR

It was so nice to go to the cabin in Fairmont for the weekend - it's so lovely and relaxing out there! I was able to get in a good amount of reading and scrapbooking time. Ahh - this view is just perfection. It was a long weekend and then I took an extra day on Tuesday to purge my whole closet and relax for the day!

FIVE

I just picked up a new makeup bag on Amazon - it's huge and perfect! It is the Narwey Travel Toiletry Bag for Women Large Hanging Makeup Bag Organizer  - I picked up the large size and this actually hangs and I think it will hold everything!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
