Hello blast from the past, I haven't gotten an Ipsy bag in yeeears - since November 2018 to be exact since I went back and looked. Since that time, quite a few things have happened - mostly, they've merged with Boxycharm so you can now get both items through the same site. But, what drew me back in was the idea of a deluxe quarterly box called The Icon Box curated by some heavy hitters in the beauty community (comes out November, February, etc.) so I snagged an October Glam Bag to make sure I could try out the November Icon Box!
I purchased this subscription - this post contains affiliate links
The Ipsy Glam Bag is $14 per month + $3.95 shipping to Canada (it worked out to $25.06 CAN with the exchange for the month!) Each month comes with 5 curated products based on your preference quiz and I now you get to pick one of the items that is included in the box. It also gives you access to beauty deals in their shop.
I think because I joined mid-month my box shipped out quite late and I didn't have the option of picking an item, but here is a look at the 5 items included in my October 2023 Ipsy Glam Bag:
Bodyography Eye Pencil in Black Walnut ~ $11.00 US. These super smooth, coconut oil infused pencils glide on without dragging at the delicate skin around the eye. These eye pencils are rigid enough to provide a crisp, clean line yet can easily be smudged during application for a smokey effect.
I feel like it's pretty on point to get an eye pencil in an Ipsy bag (years ago I stopped because I just ended up with so much stuff), but it's good timing for me - I just went to use my brown eye pencil and it was pretty dried up, so I will get to use this one now. No complaints - full size.
The Beauty Crop Oui Cherie Hydrating Gripping Primer ~ $20.00 CAN. This oil-free formula is like a hydrating hug for your skin, keeping it nourished and ready for a flawless makeup application. Infused with the protective power of cherry extract, it helps your skin defend itself against environmental aggressors while also calming inflammation. And let's not forget about hyaluronic acid, the hydration hero that helps plump up your skin to help give you that bouncy, dewy look we all love.
Primers were another thing that I got a ton of in my old Ipsy bags, but I'm down to one left (from other brands and my purchases since then) so I will use this soon. It's a full size item and I like a gripping primer so excited to give this one a try!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Sculpt Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara ~ $17.00 CAN for deluxe mini size. A lengthening and volumizing mascara designed to deliver sexy, extension-effect lashes that curl with every coat.
ABH isn't a brand that I buy from a whole lot, so I've never tried a mascara from them - I love a volumizing formula so I'm excited to try this one out. It is a sample size, but it's a retail sample size so it's not teeny tiny and I'm really happy to get this in my bag!
Purlisse Blush Glow BB Cheek Colour in Cool Mauve ~ $18.00 US for full size (this deluxe size is worth approximately $9.00 US). This liquid blush is a one-way ticket to glow city. The cool pink shade gives skin a natural looking flush, while hawthorn and goji berry extract help brighten your complexion.
I've been into cream and liquid products more and more lately, so this is great to get - Purlisse is a pretty solid beauty box brand, so I'm excited to try this one out soon! This is a deluxe sample, but I have so many blushes and you need only a small amount that this will still last a long time!
Luna Magic Compact Highlighter in Tulum ~ $12.00 US for full size (this deluxe sample is worth approximately $5.50 US). Our Luna Magic Compact Highlighter is your secret to add instant glow to your cheeks.
This is the only product that is just okay for me - not because there is anything wrong with it at all, but because I just have so many similar products like this, so I might put this in a little gift bag and pass it on!
I am happy to receive all makeup products in this bag - I do think with two full size products and three sample size that it was worth the $25. It was really fun to get this again and I'm excited to share what the icon box is all about this month and try it out! I will probably get this for fun every few months and will see what it's like!
Do you still get any makeup subscriptions?!
