Five on Saturday - July 15, 2023 ~ In The Lives of Puppets Book Review, Penticton Visit, Splashdown in Vernon, Calgary Stampede, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Movie

Happy Friday everyone - I hope you all had a great week! We have been so busy - I was away on holidays last week, came home on Tuesday and have been non-stop ever since!

ONE

I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I'm always excited to share books on here that I love - this one is In The Lives of Puppets is T.J. Klune (another amazing read by this author!) This is supposed to be a Pinocchio retelling and after loving the new adaptation Netflix show and just listening to the original book, I was really excited for this! This is about a "real boy" and his family of androids - they are an adorable quirky family and I loved the found family aspect. I have a dry sense of humor, so I enjoyed the androids personalities and they were so much fun.

While this starts with setting up the family, they end up having to go on an adventure after Vic's Dad, Gio, gets taken back to the city - the group has to contend with robots that don't want humans to exist but they will do anything to get their family back together. I liked the adventure, and while the outcome was a little predictable, I loved it! 4.5 stars - a great look at humanity and family.

TWO

We spent a week in Penticton with my family - this was such a good week. We got lots of family time, beach time and this picture was from in Summerland when we got a little wine time in!

THREE

Before we went to Penticton, we stopped in Vernon, B.C. for two nights so we could spend a day at Splashdown Waterslides - outdoor waterslides are few and far between now, so we were really excited for this! They were so much fun - we spent the whole day there and had a blast!

FOUR

As soon as we got back from our trip, our family from overseas is in town and we booked a Stampede day! We had so much fun - tried some crazy food, went to the chuckwagon races and Nashville North for a drink! Always a blast!

FIVE

It was really hot in Penticton, so we cooled down for an afternoon and watched the new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny movie! We really enjoyed the show - it's action packed and was really fun!

I hope you all have a good weekend!
