Mask Wednesday - Tony Moly Master Lab "Intensive Moisturizing Ultra Collagen" Mask Sheet

Happy Mask Day! I am always interested in trying new masks from brands that I'm really familiar with - especially, when they are more expensive with greater claims! You know, like are they better? Are they worth the extra money? I plan to test that out with a Master Lab mask from Tony Moly! 

Tony Moly Master Lab Sheet Mask - Intensive Moisturizing Ultra Collagen ~ $9.00 US for a set of 2 masks. Our Master Lab Sheet Mask Collection features an ultra thin hydrating sheet mask made of natural cellulose for even and consistent absorption of active ingredients! Each Mask features a customized formula that targets specific skin concerns.

This mask uses a cellulose material as opposed to a regular pulp or cotton sheet mask. I love a cellulose mask - they are super soft and well fitting on the face. And hands down, I would pay more for a better quality sheet. 


This particular mask's key ingredient is collagen and it helps "supports skin structure and elasticity with skin-firming protein for a youthfully-smooth appearance."

This mask is easy to use - wash face, tone skin, apply mask and wear for 20-30 minutes, remove mask, pat remaining essence in to skin, and complete skincare routine. 

My first comment was on actually unfolding the mask - this is a very thin material and it just stuck together. Generally, with a really thin mask an extra layer is added to help unfold the mask and apply it to the face. I struggled to unfold the mask and I stretched it out around the mouth and nose while trying to open in. 

That being said, once the mask was applied, it fit really great. It was super soft and smooth and adhered well with a good amount of essence. There was no bubbles and I felt like every area of my face was covered. I easily wore this for 45 minutes and there was still plenty of essence remaining to massage in to the skin. My skin was really moisturized and hydrated - I did not add any more product for the night and the next morning my skin was soft, smooth and hydrated. 

Now, I personally don't notice a lot of noticeable wrinkle reduction/youthful brightness when using collagen masks as it's not a typical skin concern, but I liked that this offered an intense moisturizing benefits as well. I would repurchase the Tony Moly Master Lab mask again; but, I would likely pick something like Snail Mucin or Hyaluronic Acid. 

Now, is this worth paying more for the Master Lab masks than the readily available Tony Moly I'm Real Sheet Masks that are 2 masks for $6.00 US? In my opinion, yes! I have used a couple I'm Real masks and I find they fit okay, but not as good as this mask. Also, the material is thicker and not as soft on the skin - the material on the Master Lab mask is amazing. And, overall I preferred the results of this mask! When I don't need to apply serum or moisturizer and my skin looks amazing the next day - i'm sold!
