May 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag - Review and Unboxing!

Okay - so this is what I have been waiting for!! Ipsy is the reason i started looking in to monthly subscription boxes! My new work partner told me about it and I signed about a month ago and have been waiting (im)patiently for my first bag to arrive!!!

Ipsy was created by Michelle Phan, a notable makeup youtuber who created this business. Every month you receive 4-5 make-up/beauty sample products (if you are lucky some come full size too!). I was really excited to try it but was slightly disappointed that they put me on a "wait-list" - as soon as a friend of mine signed up I was instantly off this wait-list. I'm not a huge fan of this but i was excited about the idea and would have waited!!
Ipsy is $10 per month (or $110 a year) + shipping to Canada (with the exchange rate right now i paid $16.85 Canadian)

So Ipsy comes each month in a little makeup bag (from the reviews I have read some people don't like all of the bags) but this little bag is super cute!! The May 2014 Glam Bag is all about "Fresh Picks". First look at my bag and I got a sunscreen, face mask, moisturizer, eyeshadow and a makeup brush.

I wanted to try as much as I could prior to this review to give you honest feedback!
Hey Honey Take It Off Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask - $35 US for full size 50ml - sample size $7 for 10ml
Made for all skin types. I was actually kind of excited to see a peel off mask - it took me back to being young and doing masks with my sister!! So on the website the directions say to put light moisturizer on your face and then put a thin layer of mask on. Leave on until dry 15-20 minutes, peel to remove and reapply a light moisturizer. So i don't like that the mask is clear, it makes it a little hard to make sure you have an even amount and the removal (with any peel off mask) was a little tricky to make sure every bit was off! So as I might not buy the full size of this i will finish using the sample size as it did make my skin feel super smooth after!!

Hang Ten Sport SPF 50 - $12.99 US for full size 6 oz - sample size $2.16 for 1 oz
This is a natural sunscreen - so i am really excited to try it! Great size for a hiking day or a long day out when you need a little purse or pocket size sunscreen! I will let you know when i try it!

Pur-lisse pur-moist hydra-balance moisturizer - $55 US for full size 1.7 oz - sample size $16.17 0.5 oz
This is for normal-dry skin and is anti-aging. I tried this and seems great, not too thick or greasy and feels great on. I will not commit to buy full size as I'm not really ready for an anti-aging moisturizer! But i will enjoy this sample!

Crown Chisel Shader Brush - $7.73 US full size
This brush is fantastic!!! Nice and short and is so perfect for the eye crease and creating that beautiful smoky eye - this is my favorite product in the bag and will get a ton of use!

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo #2 in Moonbeam and Unicorn - $14 US for 4 full size shadows   0.25 oz - $3.92 for sample size 2 shadows 0.07 oz
This company describes itself as 100% vegan and cruelty free so I was really excited to try this shadow.
Moonbeam is a pearlescent greyish moody violet and Unicorn is a white with sparkle shimmer

So for $16.85 I got $36.98 of products in my first Glam Bag - i think this is a great value! The only thing i will not use is the eyeshadow, everything else was great!
I am told that Ipsy normally has much more make-up than face products so I look forward to what I get next month!!!

Let me know what you think and if you got an Ipsy bag I would love to know what you thought - it looks like they had a ton of different products this month!
