I always look forward to this month for nails because for the whole month of February, the #CBBxManiMonday group is going to do Pink & Red nails for Valentine's Day! I absolutely love this colour theme and am hoping I can get some good inspiration all month for nail art!
I really attempted to do the trendy "aura" nails and honestly, they didn't turn out well, but I realistically only have one attempt at my nails each week and if they don't work then oh well, we do our best.
The products I used for this week's manicure are:
- Essie All-in-one top and base coat
- Maniology Stamping Polish in Love Potion
- OPI Barbie Nail Lacquer in Hi Barbie!
- Revlon Ultra HD Snap! in Berry Blissed
- Holo Taco polish in Aurora Unicorn Skin
- Pueen Latex Tape Liquid Peel Off Cuticle Guard
- Maniology Smudge Free Top Coat
I also used a triangle makeup sponge for these nails.
So theoretically, you are supposed to paint a base coat of the lightest shade, put on a cuticle protector and then paint three colours in a circle and dab them all on the nails so they give that aura effect. I did do all the proper steps, but likely didn't let my base dry enough and I also probably added too much polish to my triangle. They don't look terrible, but it wasn't quite the effect I was hoping for!
