Skincare Sunday - The Benefits of Going 1 Day Per Week Without Makeup

I am the first to admit - I love wearing make-up! I am not the type that thinks getting dolled up is a chore and I love how makeup enhances my features!

As much as I love make-up, I do practice going minimally 1 day or more per week without makeup! (I recently had some eye problems and have not been able to wear eye make-up, so I took it as an opportunity to frequently go completely make-up free). I have even gone out of my comfort zone and gone make-up free to work, and since I have focused so much on my skincare lately, no one told me I look sick or tired (I hardly think anyone noticed)!

Here are the benefits of wearing no make-up:

1. Clearer Skin
Your skin is free of pore-clogging products - with your skin exposed to fresh air and free of products you can count on clearer skin! 

2. More Focus on Skincare Routine
When you get ready in the morning without applying make-up, it gives you the opportunity to take a few extra minutes on your skin! Complete your whole routine with care - this can include wearing eye masks for 10 minutes or massaging in your moisturizer for an extra bonus! 

3. Confidence!
I used to be nervous leaving the house with no make-up on and thought that I looked awful and sick! I had to at least wear foundation and mascara before I left. Now that I have been doing on a weekly basis, I am much more confident leaving the house without it! I'm not going to lie, I was not confident the first time, but the more I did it, the more confident I became!

I have certainly seen the benefits of going make-up free - my skin has been clearer and brighter without wearing make-up every day! The more I focus on my skincare, the better my skin looks and the better I feel about not wearing make-up!
