November 2014 Beauty Box 5 - Review and Unboxing

This post contains referral links

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription box that costs $12 US per month + $3 shipping to Canada. If you sign up for a longer subscription, you get a lower price per box: $30 quarterly, and $99 a year ( plus $3 shipping per month).

I signed up for Beauty Box 5 when they had a promotional code for $12 off a year (and before they started charging for shipping!) - so I got a full year for $87. This worked out to $97.60 Canadian with the exchange rate so I only pay $8.14 a month for this subscription.

Beauty Box 5 has been referred to as the"starter beauty box" - it does not send many high end products and the value tends to be lower than other boxes but they often do have really good products.

Here is the November Beauty Box 5:

November 2014 TopBox - Canadian Beauty Box Review and Unboxing + Eyeko Black Magic Mascara Review!

TopBox is a Canadian Beauty Box Subscription - for $12 CDN a month with free shipping (I pay $12.60 each month with tax), you will receive 4 deluxe sample size or full size products. You fill out a beauty profile and get items based on what you have identified. Also, every month you have the option to "wish" for a prive box. A prive box is a box that focuses on one brand or product for the whole box. (The only downside is that they do have a wait list - it took me about a month to get off of it).

This month I selected the "regular" topbox as no Prive box jumped out at me!

Here is my November 2014 TopBox:

TopBox used to include a cardboard tube, but they now allow you to select to an "eco-friendly" option in a re-usable organza bag.

October 2014 Eva Scrivo Quarterly Co. Box #EVA01 - Review and Unboxing

Quarterly Co. features quarterly subscription boxes curated by celebrities and personalities you love. The subscriptions range from fashion to food to books and include packages curated by people from Bill Nye to Pharrel Williams to Rosario Dawson, etc. Most packages are $50 but a couple are $100 plus shipping (shipping to Canada is a little hefty on this site - $10-$20 per package so make sure you are signing up for one you really want!).

Eva Scrivo is described as a Make-up Maven and Hair-apist and is regarded as one of today's foremost authorities on beauty. Eva describes her first box as:
My first mailing is themed "backstage beauty", and will contain products, inspiration and how-to techniques for making runway looks practical for your own lifestyle.

This Box was $100 (plus $20 shipping to Canada) - so with the exchange rate I paid $138.51 (+ I was charged $8.25 for COD - which I believed we did not have to pay and I have emailed Quarterly about this!).

MemeBox Superbox #72 Etude House Beauty Box Review + coupon codes

This post contains referral links

Memebox is a Korean Beauty Box company - it is not a monthly subscription box - they instead have a ton you can choose from ranging in price from $15 and up - usually between $23 and $29. (It might be better for me if it was a subscription box because I buy more than 1 per month!!!)

All the boxes have different themes and they are limited quantities and sell out quickly - so if you see one you like, don't hesitate! The boxes come with 4-8 full size and deluxe sample size items & they usually show you 1 spoiler from the box and the rest are all surprises! Shipping to Canada is $6.99 (shipping does take any where from 10-20 business days) and they ship worldwide!

The Etude House Box was called an epic moment in Memebox history! This is how it is described:
Who says serious skincare and makeup has to be, well, serious? Not Etude House!
Although Etude House’s cult-favorite products pack a punch with seriously effective ingredients, their cheeky names and ridiculously cute packaging never fail to make you smile! Offering a wide range of beauty products, Etude House delivers 100% satisfaction for all!

November 2014 Fabletics Work-out Wear Subscription Box Review + 50% off

This post contains referral links

Fabletics is a workout wear monthly subscription box! For $49.95 CDN (and up) + $4.95 shipping you get a full workout outfit (2-3 pieces). It usually consists of a bottom, top, and accessory or sports bra!

When you first sign up now you get your first outfit for 50% off (actually an amazing deal!). To me, the best part of this subscription is that you can skip any month as often as you want - I love this option because I won't pay $55 a month for workout clothes, but it would be nice every few months to get something new.

As a VIP you will be shown new outfits on the 1st of the month - you have until the 4th of each month to select your style or skip. If you do not select any option, you credit card will be charged and you will be given a credit on their website for any future purchase. There have been some complaints on this but the website is upfront about this policy so I say, just make sure you don't forget!!

Here is my November Fabletics outfit:

It is called "Fallen" and is three pieces - this outfit was more than the average monthly outfit, and was $79.95. (It was just so pretty, I couldn't resist!)

Most of the time when you sign up for a box, it doesn't ship until a month or two later - so when they announced the Skinfood Box - the shipping was a few days after purchase! I ordered boxes and got a free upgrade to express shipping so they came right away!

SkinFood was $29 + $6.99 shipping. The brand seems to be a good brand, and the motto is "Food that is good for your health, is also good for your skin" and focuses on feeding your skin.
